New Product Announcement - Smaller Backing Plate for Flex XC3401

Any experience on how it feels with the smaller plate? I was told to put a smaller backing plate on my GG to minimize the vibration and to make it easier to control. I found that statement to be true.

I have only used my Flex once for a few hours and I found that, at times, it walks on you in an aggressive manor. Any chance the smaller plate helps?

I have read that the smaller plate gives you more control making it very manageable.

ahhhhh. Now to me. This is the best reason of all to jump on this new backing plate. I'll prob rarely go back to the old one.

Any ROP will
"Walk" the main reason being that the pad is not being held flat to the surface. If the pad is saturated or sticky with drying compound or removed material the problem will be exacerbated. The forced rotation of the Flex amplifies any error in technique or material useage. A clean pad, re-application of polish and attention to technique is a better solution.

More like masking a problem. Better to find out why. The Flex 3401 is a handful in the form of a powerful machine a lot easier to work with than agianst.

Very true. Clean pad and not working with one that is saturated is key. I agree that technique will also play a pivotal role in mastering the use of the FLEX 3401.

Thanks Fred. That makes perfect sense. I was going to comment to you that I didnt have that problem with my GG. But mid paragraph you made the point "The forced rotation of the Flex amplifies any error". It sure does. That would also explain why the problem isnt consistant as I switch & clean pads as i visual see it's needed. a couple of times i probably waited too long.
