NEW UDOS RANDOM ORBIT POLISHER - UDOS = User Defined Orbital Stroke by Lake Country

The UDOS RANDOM ORBIT POLISHER by Lake Country

UDOS_02.jpg

UDOS is the first professional machine polisher to offer a User Defined Orbital Stroke. The patented UDOS includes four different random orbit choices, allowing detailers to get more work done with just one tool. Easily adjust the orbit with a simple turn of the front collar. The UDOS Random Orbital Polisher is the results of hundreds of hours of research, the revolutionary UDOS is designed for the way detailers use tools in the field, including many features not found on any other polisher.

From Lake Country

• Most powerful motor on the market.

• Dynamic balance offers comfort and control.

• A locked cord exits the tool at an angle allowing detailers to throw the cord over a shoulder without worrying about fraying or tearing.

• Designed to dissipate vibration and reduce fatigue.

• Advanced rubber grip control.

• Stable resting position with non-marring rubber bumpers.

UDOS is versatile enough for

  1. Sanding
  2. Cutting
  3. Finishing

What is the weight of the machine? It looks light. How about power specs?

Never polished a car before but have been doing research and would like this to be my first. Let’s see how this goes.

Thanks for posting, Mike. I’m a tool guy. I can already see how this machine can be beneficial

I agree :iagree:

I, like you Doc am a 'tool guy' & this will no doubt make its way into my arsenal but . . . unlike some of the polishers I own I can see the Lake Country UDOS playing a valuable role in the shop.

Absolute brilliance from the team behind this at Lake Country, to go out into the trenches & actually do the research & listen to the folks that will be using such a tool, gather all that information & then go & build something so innovative . . . well done! :props:

What’s the smallest and what’s the largest stroke that can be selected using that UDOS system?

Depending on reviews I'll probably pick one up. This could definitely change things. As I typically cut with my 21mm and finish with either my 12mm Duetto or pc7424. Very curious to see some reviews.

Any information on release date?

Wonder why a pic of the flex was used in the video if it doesn't have a direct drive mode? You know that would throw off most of us here

I don't know if any of you picked up that the video starts by saying "Introducing the first in a new line of LC power tools..."

So sounds like there is going to be more to come, whether that's more polishers or something else, who knows.

***Update***

Overnight, Lake Country sent me their FAQ for this machine plus pricing and some more pictures....

There's also picture on the first page of this thread, they were not visible because when I added them to the gallery I made the gallery invisible. Forgot to change the settings last night when I moved this post from the Rough Draft forum group to the public forum.

Mike can you make the FAQ available to us? I am pretty sure it will have answers to the questions being posted such as orbit stroke lengths, motor power, machine weight, OPM, etc.

Thanks Mike,
ScottH

I'm looking forward to getting one in my hands and testing it out.

I agree. Scott, the guy that did all the research at our classes was very diligent.

From Lake Country,

UDOS will offer 4 orbit choices, from short (8mm) to long (21mm) in one tool.

Yep, more tools is what I've been told.
