Vilipend (vil-UH-pend)

Definition: To regard or treat as of little value or account

Source: Thesaurus.com

We are not to vilipend the teachings of detailers with mounds of experience, they have lots to teach us (well me anyhow) and their words should not be taken for granted.

I have a close friend, also a detailer, who regularly vilipends my product choices and applications with vehemence.

^^ Such is life! I have several friends that ask me for "workout advice", argue with me and listen to some complete stranger. UGH!

^^^^^^^Good one VT!^^^^^^^

Whenever someone else, besides a close friend,
Criticizes my Detailing, even:"Stooping-to-vilipend".
I think: No need to explain my products or any process;
I'm now in no mood for digression...I won't acquiesce!
(After being paid, tho', it's FUN trying to kick their hind-end).

:D

Signing off and shutting down should prove to be felicitous, the honey-do list needs addressing. We are expecting houseguests- mollycoddling them is the norm. So off I go to the florist for fresh flowers for their room.

But first, I must strip and wash the bedding; no fabric softener. Followed by a dusting of the furniture, and a quick once over of the guest bathroom.

However, once they are here and everything settles down, I will efface my presence in order to ameliorate the situation.

This is proving to be entertaining. I just wasted another hour. It would be nice if their flight were to be delayed-like maybe 'til summer.

It would take me more time to compose something of this nature, than it does to do a full claying of the lac. lol

Mammonism (MAM-uh-niz-uhm

Definition: The greedy pursuit of riches

Source: Thesaurus.com

Mammonism can lead a detailer to cutting corners, knowingly using inferior products, and any other sort of deceitful measures to make those extra couple bucks. In time, that will cost them more in customers and reputation then it would have to be going at business the right way from the beginning.

..hmm last few of my "Words of the Day" have been a little on the negative side, I am going to have to bring a little more positive energy tomorrow!

Note:
IMO...Sometimes there’s nothing wrong in pointing out the negative aspects of what can often befall us human beings…This may serve as a wake-up call as well…Regardless of one’s occupation or station in Life. Thanks for these contributions, Tundra_10.

Speaking of contributions…
-Been awhile, or so it seems, since I actually introduced any “new words of the day”.
-So here’s a couple of words I thought would be a ‘nice fit’ to piggy-back off your excellent use of: Mammonism .

Pecuniary
Mulct
Covetness

Matthew 6:24…(In a nut-shell): Can’t serve two masters equally (Love one…Not love the other)
The Beatitudes/Sermon on the Mount: (Included therein): A person’s character is: "The Secret of Happiness and Strength".

-Perhaps mammonism can be described as avarice; but, covetness is also a way I think could apply… “I want what they have”…I must:“Keep up with Joneses”…I have to improve my“Social Status”…(And some will do anything, or so it seems, to reach those goals.)

-What if, and, just to satisfy ones pursuit of the almighty mammon...Pecuniary decisions are made solely to mulct another person out of: Goods and/or services? (That is: What a person has bargained and paid for in good faith.)

-What, then, does that say about a person’s character? Has this become their inherent trait?

IMHO...Have they forgotten:
-Happiness consists, not in external blessings, but in the inner poise of ones life...Poise from virtue-elements/qualities such as: Humility, self-control, purity, loyalty; and, kindliness in disposition, in word and in act is: An obligation binding on all...These are the genuine qualities of real strength.

-Character is not something imposed from without but a life that unfolds from within...A sound inner life...Deemed by ones personal and social conduct...Judged by the quality of ones inner motives...A moral slump at one point can imperil the whole life.

-This, I believe, is the dynamic principle of true character and right conduct.

Thank you for your addition good buddy and forum friend! As always, its appreciated and enjoyed immensely!

Thank you T10 for your word choice today. I have always been aware of greed and its meaning; but never knew its breadth. I spent about a half hour just reading Bob"s posting. Not to mention new-tabbing The Sermon On The Mount.

I understand that tommorow is not promised, but if granted another 24, I will have my homework cut out for me in Matthew.

Keep up the good work,Bob - it's much appreciated.

My contribution for: "new word of the day"...02.17.2012.

When does a "CarFax" have nothing to do with a car or a fax?

Carfax: kar'faks, n (Latin quadrifurcus, four-forked)

Definition:
A place where four roads meet; an intersection of main roads at the center of a town; main intersection in a town.

I also like the Latin word:

Furcus...:D

Felicitation (fi-lis-i-tey-shuhn)

Definition: an expression of good wishes; congratulation

Source: Thesaurus.com

After a thread is posted about a recent car that has been revitalized and corrected, it is normal suit for the other members to send felicitations to the OP.

Thank you to FUNX725 to keeping the momentum going in my absence and to Vegas Transplant for enjoying and contributing. I now have to go get ready for work. UGH! I feel like I live to work not work to live.

After mistaking caustic degreaser as the APC , the dealer detailer knew that he would not be hearing any felicitations from the shop manager.

I now have to go get ready for work. UGH! I feel like I live to work not work to live.

Felicitaciones, Tundra_10... estoy contento de que son trabajadores por cuenta ajena... Sí, el lugar de trabajo es a veces difícil ir... Nota: Guardar para más tarde en la vida!

{Good wishes to you, Tundra_10...I'm glad you are employed...Yes, the workplace is sometimes hard to go to ...Note: Save-up for later in Life!}

Note:
I think felicitation sounds cool in Spanish!
