The detailer had the gumption to switch over to a more aggressive compound when he realized he only had pads that were not aggressive enough to allow for the correction he was after.

I feel like a complete idiot as I now realize that yesterday was my mom's birthday. I spent all day at a customers house and when I came home, covered in dust from head to toe; I took a shower, ate, responded to a thread that I started, then went to bed.

^^ That is a great word! Thank you for the contribution! Given the somewhat lower maturity level of some of my co-workers I fear using such a word will not have quiet the same meaning. Instead of being a powerful denotation to their character I think they would just giggle.
