It's pretty clear that we are not on the correct course to turn our economy around. The current congress and administration's ideas are not working and they are unwilling or unable to change course. I cringe when I think of where another four years of this could leave us.
We have under this current admin, turned people into either pro-business or pro-labor camps. We need an administration that is pro-American. Both business and labor must partner and prosper if we are ever going to get our country back on course.
So we are at a juncture where we simply can't go another four years with what we have. We have a slate of candidates that are mostly unremarkable. Given that, I believe Newt is the most intelligent and experienced way forward. My guess is that Gingrich will be the candidate.
I would love to see a series of Gingrich/Obama debates.
We need to stop the class warfare and unite all Americans if we want to save our future and our children's future.
We arein debt and racing towards our demise.![]()
Many seem to believe that it is the entitlements, Medicare and Social Security, that are the biggest problem but they would be wrong. The huge and rapidly growing interest payments on our debt will be the main thing that does us in. We can't fix this by just taxing the wealthy and we can't fix this by doing nothing and continuing to spend our way into oblivion. If we fail to take action now, we fail for our kids and grandkids. Imagine for a minute what their life will be like if we don't act now. We need an administration and congress that will join together to do the hard things needed to save our kids future. We, as Americans, need to step up and see that our elected officials do the right thing.
•We need to stop our government's unfettered access to our checkbook. I believe this will require a balanced budget amendment.
•We need to force congress and the administration to live like us and I'd propose that we force them to live with the same programs and benefits we all have, like Medicare and Social Security.
•We need to establish term limits and cut out lifetime salary and benefits for politicians. You are supposed to be there to serve our country, not strap on the feed bag for the rest of your life. Serve your term and go back home to your life.
•We need to radically change our tax system. Everyone must pay some taxes regardless of income. We all have a stake in America's future so let's not pretend that it's ok for half of us to not pay any taxes.
•We should cut our congress in half. We needed all these people back in the horse and buggy days but today we have technology to assist us. Information moves at the speed of light. The larger our government gets the more corrupt and divisive it gets and the more spending that it does. Do any of us think we get better representation with more members of congress? With a current congressional approval rating of 12% I think many would agree that less is better.
•We need to evaluate every government program every year and cut duplication and programs that are not effective. Each and every program should have a sunset clause whereby if it doesn't meet it's promised goals it's gone, no exceptions.
Today 237 in congress are millionaires. Surprisingly, 4 out of 5 are Democrats. We probably should ask if these wealthy old codgers are actually representing the average American. I suspect that rich old white guys may not be a demographic match to the general populace they supposedly support. I suspect they don't have a clue on how most of us live. Perhaps their wealth makes them ill suited to represent us objectively. When you live and run in the Millionaires Club you likely loose track of the struggles and strife most of us must deal with on a daily basis.
We have to get this done and time is not on our side. Please get informed and vote. I believe this may be the most important election cycle we have ever seen on our lifetime.
Very interesting, very thoughtful.

I agree..except anyone that spends more than $30 on a can, jar, bottle, jug, box or carton of wax is nuts!
Haha cheeky!!!
I would agree, although I did spend more than $30 for my P21s 100% and it's worth every cent. :righton:
