Opti Seal First Review

Guess I can add to this thread as I just used the poli seal/ OS combo the other day on black Infinity and it worked great. can not even tell how much was used in the bottle when I was done LOL ! I used the foam applicator. less is more using OS and remember to follow Anthony's advice to work it into the paint. I would say it took me 10- 15 minutes to do 2 coats of OS. left the first coat cure 1.5 hrs before doing the second. had a cloudy sky but you can get an idea of how good the stuff looks, very wet and deep. I for one was very pleased with it.:applause: ok time for a few pics LOL !

Thanks for the kind words. I applied the OS with one spritz to prime the foam pad then used 1/2 pump per panel on the smaller ones and 1 pump on everything else but the hood which I used 2 pumps. this was a customers car, so after the second coat was on for an hour, I used a super plush towel to lightly wipe the dust off. since I work outside without a garage I always do a very gentle final wipe with a super plush towel before it goes back to a customer. was a nice combo to use and saved me a lot of time on the outside :) can not wait to see the car in the sunlight Im the MAN

You are very welcome. just like a few other sealants out there that require no or very little wiping, we need to work it into the paint to knock down the high spots. I remember the first time I used AJ from JW, I had a mess until I cut back on the amount I used, did a smaller section at a time and worked the sealant into the finish. once I got the hang of it, you do not even think about it. I am sure you will have it mastered in no time. let me know if you have any more questions on my experience with the OS.

Will do flatstick.....thanks......

Where does the opti-seal fit in the detail process? Does it replace anything, or is it an added step?

I THOUGHT LSP....LAST.......BUT IVE TOPPED IT ....SO IT WOULD BE FOR ME?? UNDER THE LSP..................

If its LSP, it would go over the Carnuba wax? I read in another thread that opti seal over carnuba was a no no?

I have read conflicting information. It is believed that both Zaino CS and Opti-seal can be used over cured carnauba waxes to seal in the look. This does however go against the cardinal rule of sealants under waxes only from the past.

Hmmm, I will try it and report back, I would like the LSP better.
I pretty much bought everything that could be bought in the past month here on AG, so hopefully I can be of some service for the next wave of AG newbies!

seeing what is coming soon to AG, well lets just say we all will be spending and evaluating alot of nice new things/products. The summer is poised for alot of clean cars !!

It's fine to use over carnauba. You might get a faint streak here and there but easily wipes away with some qd and a microfiber---maybe just a microfiber. No big deal at all.

Update: I applied Optiseal on a panel that was just polished (no lsp on it) and there was NO streaking at all.

More products? The wallet can't handle it!

Are those angel eyes aftermarket?

Indeed they are :D
I love them! A lot brighter than beamer angel eyes for the most part. Altho some of the new bmw's seems to have the really white ones like these now :)
And most bmw's have full circles.
I kind of wish my lowbeam was a full circle....
