My new JIS screwdriver bits arrived. Ordered last night on Amazon, arrived this afternoon. I'd never heard of JIS till I was watching a car show the other day, they were restoring a 90s Supra, and the mechanic said working on Japanese cars requires JIS screwdrivers. They look the same as Phillips, but they're not. JIS fit both Phillips and JIS screws, but Phillips don't fit JIS properly, making it easy to strip them. I always wondered why my screwdrivers didn't quite fit the FJ, I just thought they were worn out. Now I don't know if this applies to all Japanese cars, and bikes, or just the ones manufactured in Japan, but you can tell by the little dot in the bottom of the JIS screws.![]()

Hey mate, could I borrow those for a minute?
Trying to get the MAF sensor out of the Hilux Surf and not a single Phillips bit or driver I own will fit the fasteners
I’ll just drive over and pick them up if you don’t mind
