Won the Brilliant Finish Foam Cannon Enthusiast Kit during Griot's last livestream. I was curious what the washcloths were like. They're pretty high gsm but only 12" x 12" so they're 6" folded up twice compared to 8" for a 16" x 16" microfiber. Maybe I'll use them folded in half.

How have others found this product? If my memory is correct, is Meguiar’s Hybrid Ceramic Detailer the retail version of M799?

Hybrid ceramic detailer is basically a diluted version of M799. Don't let that deter you though because it is a top notch product at the retail level. Beads VERY well, leaves the paint feeling silky smooth, leaves behind some nice gloss as well. I like using it after a wash and thorough blow dry as the "cherry on top", plays nicely on glass and trim as well. Overall a fantastic product and something I reach for quite often these days.

I recently bought a bottle of HCD from Mr. Bezos for $14 usd. I see it going for around $23 usd at a lot of other places though.

It’s better than Beadmaker…. Never used Elixer. Best of the protective type QD’s.

A quick tryout on the stainless steel bench, I could immediately tell that HCD has more substance to it than Bead Maker.

EliXir is decent but I don't grab it instinctively like do with Bead Maker or even Paint Gloss, both of which I can just grab and know I will get the result I'm after. EliXir you sort of need to work for it a touch more.

Got one of those brushes that has become popular to apply tire shine. First saw it posted here by coatingsarecrack. I got mine from Mr. Bezos, just look up "flat top craft ink blending brush".

The brush works flawlessly and is now my go to for applying tire products. For knobby off road tires I think I'd stick with a flag tipped brush due to the larger surface area and all the peaks and valleys.

you may want to check this video out below. this gentleman has been using this brush for over two years to dress tires and it's held up pretty well. similar concept to the df curveball brush, but with a wood palm handle and boars hair bristles...

Wow! It took literally the first wipe to realize this is a brilliant product! I can tell straight away if I'm going to like and continue to use a product. And continue to buy it!

As mentioned earlier, Meguiars HCD is very similar in concept to CarPro EliXir, OG Drying Aid or Bead Maker. At full retail in Australia, HCD is on par with those products for price per ml. On sale, it smashes them out of the park, especially when it's easier to use. Meguiars might have taken their time to catch up to the boutique brands with a Si02 product like this, but they certainly used that time wisely. The only thing I don't like about it is the old-school Meguiars wax scent to it.

I actually enjoy the old school scent. It reminds me of the quik detailer that come in maroon bottles, which happens to be one of the first drying aids I ever used. Makes me feel all nostalgic lol.

Two small deliveries over the last couple of days.

First being 25 pop-top bottle lids.







This was one of those items that I though would be as easy as typing "pop-top bottle lid" into Google and ordering within a few clicks. Strangely, nothing really seemed what I was after. I ended up landing on a cleaning supply company that tends to specialize in commercial cleaning supplies.

The key measurement here was the 28mm thread size, meaning they will fit on most product bottles, including CarPro and Koch Chemie. These pop-tops make dispensing liquids much easier and I'm surprised more brands don't offer these on their products.

I also decided I needed to have some pipettes on hand. It seemed the cost of these seemed to be similar for a pack of 10 as it was for a pack of 100. Guess what I chose? :laughing:

Yeah pricing for me was about same for product. Don’t need a blowerBand with obsessed as it has a rubberized tip. Just shipping was extra $20.

The SNC one get’s great reviews just liked look and build of OG. Knowing what I know now….. get the SNC.

Tried for a full dry today. Really been enjoying the shorter nozzle and although I didn’t love the fit it works just fine.

Circling back to the ApexAire stubby for EGO blowers, I came across this video last night.

I hope this wasn't made by someone here because, well, I'm about to say some unpleasant things.

I don't think this guy could have been more a winging baby if he tried. For what is $60 piece of plastic, he sure seemed very agitated by the thing. Sure the thing is loose fitting, but then the others he had on hand were the complete opposite and required force to remove. He complained about the price, but then went on to show three other nozzle attachments he had also purchased. If price was such an issue, why did he go on to add this Apex version to the others he already had. He could have also returned it.............I guess he then wouldn't have had a video to post and gain views from?

Yeah I could see how if you were OCD (he is) how the fit could be an issues. I have gotten over it as you don’t notice it unless your jiggling it.

It doesn’t move or rattle when in use. Still would go with The Stubby nozzle Co as I will never remove the stubby.

Don't think that would be a true coating as it looks more like an SiO2 sealant. Or maybe it is a coating lite ala CanCoat. I'd say cut the "up to 1 year" in half for real world life expectancy. True ceramic coatings usually come in small bottles.

I guess I was basing a large part of my impression on this quote from Mike Phillips from the review thread:

This new Wolfgang spray-on coating is the real deal. It's not to be confused with a "sealant", it's SiO2 all the way.

So, here's to hoping its a semi-legit coating
