Post Your Unpacking Pictures

Had a coupon and credit at LLBean so I picked these up. Will try them for cooler weather washing. They'll also see use for kayaking.

Years ago I was in a camping/outdoor goods store and saw these gloves on a discount table for $10, very comfortable with rubber grip on the fingers and palms, thought they'd be great for walking my dogs in winter, they are also good for car washing in winter, we don't get snow here so I can wash outside. Took me about 5 years before I found out they're water skiing gloves. And I've still got them.

I definitely like my ice fishing gloves that I bought myself for Xmas last year. My hands stay so warm in 45F degree weather than my hands sweat.

Unpacking, just not detailing related..............

This is evidence as to why you should not pi.s off your commercial customers.......................

There is over $200 of parts sitting on the bench right there, $200 spent at an online retailer from the comfort of my living room and delivered within two business days. No sitting in traffic to get to the store. No finding a park. No waiting to be served. No dealing with a smelly fat man with no retail experience or a smarmy woman with an attitude problem. And that's just a fraction of my yearly parts and machine expenditure.

There is a bigger story to tell behind all of that, needless to say if you own a retail business, you can't treat your customers like idiots and have the gall to charge them for it too. I am happy to pay for a service, it costs what it costs and if it saves me time that could be better spent elsewhere, then so be it. But, if the job is done half-assed, leaving me to finish the job or correct the work that was done, then you have to expect your customer to get annoyed. This business recently changed ownership, so I can forgive them for not knowing that I have bought 7 lawn mowers and countless other parts and repairs jobs there over the years. Their loss, I now take my purchasing elsewhere.

We are all told support small business and shop locally. I'm all for that, but it has to work both ways! Not "I'll gladly take your money and treat you like an idiot in return". I will support local, but I expect to be supported in return.

Interesting to note that this store is having a "massive sale this Friday and Saturday"....................from what I have been told by other customers, and the previous owner, things are not going well for them.

Carpro Reload 2.0 incoming...................

I actually liked the original Reload and used it as a standalone sealant for a long time. I moved back to waxes and sealants for a while and sort of forgot about it, so I'm really looking forward to seeing how the new version turns out.

Only problem, I don't really have a car to apply it to at the moment. Would it be silly to apply it over Can Coat EVO?

I was looking at it today, I'll probably get some next time I order from them. When I've used up the NV stuff I've got. Maybe some Essence to play with as well.

I really loved using Essence, super easy to work with. I would definitely try Boost v2 if you haven't already, it's very good also.

Cheapo microfiber applicators for tire dressings… 12 for $10

Not a fan of applying Tire dressings with make up applicator but the are great for leveling, getting in all the raised letters and sipes.

Their smaller than the more popular round ones you see but are fine for my Low Pros…. 4 for $10. Like the case they come with.

Cheap! MF towels for rinseless washes on tires or for knocking to glossy tires back. Got 100 12x12 for $30.

Didn’t get GSM but believe there 90/10 ratio

30 cents apiece I don’t mind using once on dirty tires and tossing

Those circle shaped applicators you got are great. I use them all the time for metal polishing (bumpers, exhaust tips). Where did you get those?

Gonna be polishing out my bumpers this spring. I’ll save a couple for that.

I like using those round applicators for leather conditioner, applying plastic trim restorer, metal polishing, applying lsp. I love those applicators.

Some Kamikaze OCv5 and Polish Angel Gold Zirkon. Good ol ronkh57 loved GZ on his white Corvette (summit white?) so I thought I’d give the old gold finger a try.

BusgetPlan was the bad influence on the v5

It’s a Japanese company and sometimes translation doesn’t make sense.

:D Actually we can credit the Over Coat to ronkh57 as well; he was the one who first suggested I try it back in 2016-2017. That guy was a master of both white and black paint; always had great food pictures w/ his granddaughter as well

Enjoy!

I’ve got my eye on some Kamikaze Window Coat but I’ll wait until the temps warm up until pulling the trigger so the product doesn’t freeze in transit. Best glass coating I’ve used by a long shot though GTechniq G1 is decent.
