Pre-Order the new 3rd Generation Griot's Garage 6 Inch DA Polisher!

I am so disappointed with my latest Griots polisher, I doubt I would ever buy another one
Lol!! I cancelled my pre-order with AG and ordered directly from
griots. Why? Because they offer a satisfaction guarantee. With my past experience, that was the best route.

I own a 9227c and it needs a partner in crime .... Best to get a DA or strictly an orbital?

Are you saying that AG will not honor the lifetime guarantee?Feed back please

^ griots (direct) offers a 180 day (6 months) guarantee and if you aren't happy with your purchase, they will refund or give you credit. it doesn't get much better than that...

personally, i like buying tools with lifetime warranties direct from the manufacturer so there isn't any any problems or run around later down the road...

Since this thread of Nick's is about re-labeled 6" DA polishers that's being offered by AGO...
that's seemingly re-selling them from either the re-seller: Griot's Garage...
Or directly from these 6" DA polishers' manufacturer(s)...

Then...
Am I to understand that when directly purchasing such tools as re-labeled-"GG" 6" DA polishers,
you, BigAl3, do so from manufacturers located in places like, say China?

If so: IMO...Good way to cut out all of the middle-men.

BTW: I used to have an excellent way of doing so myself:
-But, alas, when I called up Frank to discuss this issue, He politely told me:
"Sorry Bob. But just as Kathy Lee has done recently, that source has dried-up as well."

:)

AG will indeed honor the Griots warranty. They took care of everything.

bob, what i meant is (for example) since GG offers the lifetime warranty on their DA's, i would prefer to purchase it directly from them since they're the ones offering it under their name. while i'm sure some online vendors will go out of there way to take care of you when a problem arises, it's nice to be able to go to the source without having to deal with the middleman. everyone has their own preference and choice and it's up to them to decide what suits them best...

I can relate to that...mine has a hard time spreading wax on the 5 setting and it's only a couple months old. In all fairness I do have to eliminate that the problem is the extension cord....that is possible but not probable.
After that I guess the next step would be replacing the speed controller...I've heard that is the problem on some of these units.

Since its under warranty why not have Griots give you a new one?

I know what you mean.
I understand...completely.
Been faced with that before.

Don't think Griot's would want to replace my PC. lol I do have to make sure it's not the extension cord. I'm 95% sure it isn't.

Is this actually a da or just orbital? My makita bit the biscuit and looking for a replacement for around 150$ recommend this or something else ?

This is a DA=Dual Action. Get another Makita or DeWalt.

Worth getting this as a backup ? As the makita is getting re built

The Makita is a rotary and the Griot is a DA..two different machines. If you've been using a Makita all this time a DA will be much slower. Look into the new Dewalt rotary.
