Pressure Washer Recommendations??

Yea, if I get a Karcher it will definitely be the X series.

I was looking at that site and it said that this one was better:
Briggs & Stratton 20358 - 1800 PSI (Electric - Cold Water) Pressure Washer

I'm not really sure why though ???

Also, I noticed that the 1600 PSI X series is $70 cheaper than the 1800 PSI model. I'm not sure if there is any difference other than PSI though. Wonder how important the 1800 PSI is. Hmm

I talked to Bill the pressure washer "expert" from pressurewashersdirect.com about the Briggs and Stratton before I bought the Karcher. He still recommended the Karcher. Why? While Briggs and Stratton is very good with their 1 year warranty(no refurbs), they'll ship you a new one. On the flipside, after 1 year, you cannot buy replacement parts for this unit, so if anything goes bad, you're SOL. He said the Karcher has better internals, too, and is much less bulky. Don't get me wrong, the B&S is a great unit as well.

PSI is important to an extent. Gallons per minute is very important as well. What you really want to look at is the CLEANING UNITS! Multiply the PSI x GPM= Cleaning units. The higher the cleaning units, the better. You can have a lower PSI with higher GPM, which can be just as good as a higher PSI with lower GPM.

You got it, bud. :dblthumb2:

You're right.

The X series has top of the line motor and pump in its class. Some complain that after 30 days, if you have a problem with a Karcher, they will only send you a refurb. That's true. However, instead of a whole new machine, request a new part for free(or pay after 1 warranty) and replace it. No biggie!

Thanks again! By the way did you purchase an additional 25 foot hose for your X series. I am used to working with 50 foot hose but I don't want to risk it if it will force the motor to work harder.

Yes, actually from what I saw the 1600 PSI model has a universal motor instead of a induction motor

Wow, thanks for the great reply! :xyxthumbs:

Wonder why the B&G is still the best one. It doesn't matter, I still think that I'm going to get the Karcher one! I did notice that the Karcher was less bulky and half as heavy! I was weary of getting a Karcher as I've heard that they break down quite frequently, but after hearing about the new X models it sounds like a great deal! Im the MAN

I was wondering what cleaning units was. I knew that PSI as well as GPM had a role in the performance. The cleaning units is quite handy!

Thanks again :props:

Ah, okay that makes since. I guess it won't last as long! I'll probably get the 1800 PSI model then.

I don't know anywhere else that the X model Karcher is available other than the site already listed. Wonder how new it is?

Good catch!! :props:

I did not purchase a 25 foot extension. I'm not sure if a longer hose would put more pressure on the motor? Good question.

Bill from pressurewashersdirect said the X series is fairly new. There hasn't been a lot of feedback as of yet, but from the feedback so far, he said there has been nothing negative. I guess it would be a slight risk being that the X series is so new, but that didn't sway me personally.

The B&S has slightly higher cleaning units, but I like the water cooled motor and N-Cor Swash Plate Transfer System Pump of the X series.

I read about the N-Cor Swash Plate, but I have no clue what they are talking about lol.

Where does the hose go? I noticed on the 2000 PSI unit it had a reel, that would be nice if I could get one of those!

It's just a better pump that's more efficient and more corrosive resistant.

Yes, the reel would be awesome.

Northern Tool is one place, also I was looking at a few Homelite Hydrosurge pressure washers that looked neat.

Yeah I think the other place I saw some models were on Amazon, but the pressure washer direct site seemed like a better fit and they also have accesories that you can add on such as a longer hose and extra spray wands.

I was iffy at fist since it was also a new model. But I like the Karcher brand and I knew this model would be better than the other brands I have never heard of.

This unit will also be good for those hot summer days since its water cooled

I agree with you on all points.

I have a Karcher K 5.85 M. 1850 PSI, electric. I love it! Use it all of the time. It's quiet and powerful, but not too powerful. I also have a Honda gas pressure washer if I need more power.

Have a foam gun for the Karcher that works well too and it was under $30.00!

Specifics?

You have a new toy. Show us how it works! Give a demo of it in action. Show how it is well made, how hoses, etc attach !

We need a good pressure washer review with lots of pics!
