Review: Ultima Interior Guard Plus (UIGP)

What a great review, thanks for taking the time to give us this information. I'm gonna have to pick some of this up with my next order.

Thanks!

I almost bought this before but dangit! I removed from cart for something else. Great review! I still haven't even tried the paint sealant yet so I it'll probably come before the interior sealant.

8 Week Update:

All of my smooth surfaces (Leather, shifter knob, smooth plastic around shifter) still feel like velvet.

So, Richard sent me a sample of this last week and I have to say I really like it. I sent him a PM complaining about turning me on to such an expensive product and he place the blame on you Corey. Says you turned him on to it too. Well the way I see it is that you now owe both Richard and I a bottle of it. You have my address :D

Yes but it still has sticker shock

I agree 100%! That's why most people skip Ultima, but like you said Feslope when you break down cost per application it's really not that expensive. Ultima products require very little product per application. Thanks Corey! :dblthumb2:

I used this on a beige leather interior when my wifes car was new. As noted, it really did not look much different. I used the whole Ultima system on hte car inside and out, Weeks later i noticed jean transfer on the drivers seat. Looked horrible. A quick sprtiz of the interior cleaner shampoo from ultima and gone, in just a wipe, like magic. The system works and it does cost some $$ but what would it cost me to hire someoe to remove the stain?

I don't do this for a living and therefore price means less to me. I want the best and i have done all 3 of my cars 2X and still have more than half a bottle.. Same for the UPGP which i began using only on my car and becasue its so easy I have moved it to the LSP of choice for all 3. i still try other products and might try Opti-Seal WOWA one day but for now the Ultima is fast, easy, and both release dirt effortlessly.

Corey used his strong armed sales techniques on me also.

Between this and the tire guard he turned me on to, it makes me want to try the rest of the entire line.

Great stuff, and as others have said once you get over the initial shock of the bottle and use it, you will immediately understand how long that bottle will actually last you.

Question

"fabrics, leather and vinyl all take on the tactile feel of fine cashmere."

Is this saying that it can be used on cloth seats? If so how would one apply it?

It can undeed be applied on cloth seats, floor mats, carpet, etc. The suggest that for fabric you mist directly over the fabric and towel in.... Lets see... Here you go

"Ultima Interior Guard Plus is an excellent fabric sealant. Once sealed, fabrics and carpet will resist stains and fading. Before treating, fabric and carpet must be clean and completely dry. Do not treat a damp surface, as the sealant will not properly bond with the textile. To apply, mist over an area of fabric or carpet and towel in using a microfiber detailing towel. Do not saturate the fabric. Two light coatings are more effective than a heaving coating. Allow one to two hours of drying time before use. Ventilate the vehicle while applying and drying."

Thanks Corey, I'll give it a shot once you send me that bottle you owe me :D

J/K I'll have to put some in my next order.

LOL!! Yes it does and I must admit I was confused with UPGP. I do use UIGP, and I feel the same about it as UPGP. I have only used it on leather and I love the transition from "Climbing" to "Sliding" in and out of my car. The bottle may be small but, the results are large!! :xyxthumbs:

You were so right Fred. :dblthumb2:
It's amazing on leather! I use it on the entire interior including dash and smooth plastic as well. The chrome shifter and smooth plastic around it feel amazing! I went for over 2 1/2 months before re-applying to my Sky. It was still nice but not quite as soft as it had been for the first 2 months.

Actually I think I should be included in this too, as I remember you (Corey) also turned me into an Ultima junkie...

Oops, I missed this post untill Tad quoted it... My response below

Uh oh... Looks like my plan worked a little too well. I've created a 3 headed monster! All of them hungry for my precious Ultima.

To be fair... If we are talking about the Interior Guard exclusively then Fred and Ron will have to share some of the blame as well.

I don't bump threads often.... But when I do it's one that I think is worth a bump for new members.

I just tried a sample of UIGP, and I really like it. Application was very easy, and the feel/texture is beyond description. Once you get in and out of your leather seats with UIGP you will be hooked!

Thanks for the review Corey, UIGP is now a must-have in my collection.

Corey - I decided on a new test ... I am going to clean the leather seats in my Wife's car with OPC, then apply UIGP without telling her anything and see what the response is. I think that should be a pretty impartial test.
