Sealant choice

I'm looking for an AWESOME sealant to use for my full-detail when the Spring arrives. Have heard a TON about Zaino Z-2. However, I've also heard that it produces a big bead or sheeting effect. Can anyone who uses it confirm it? I'm open to any product. I've also heard Chemical Guys Jet Seal 109 is good stuff, but haven't heard much in terms of durability. I keep coming back to Klasse AIO & Hi Gloss Sealant Glaze. I hear that they have GREAT, TIGHT beading! :dblthumb2: And I'm dying to get some ridiculous beading that will last. I'm probably going to layer the sealant, and then put a coat of 'nuba on top. Have my Pinnacle Signature Series II for it :-D

So, what do you guys think? I'm looking for the real cream-of-the-crop sealant!

I'm probably not gonna try a WOWA (walk-away) sealant because of how CRAZY PRONE they are to streaking, and with a dark silver metallic it could result in some serious extra work for me!

I haven't tried a lot of sealants and none of the ones you mentioned. But my favorite of the few I have tried is definitely Four Star UPP
 
WOLFGANG DEEP GLOSS PAINT SEALANT IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Must try it
 
What is the durability and beading factors for FS UPP & WG DGPS? I'm looking for AT LEAST 1.5 months of tight beading, and I'm going to use Pinnacle Natural Brilliance Souveran Liquid Spray Wax to refresh the carnauba. That should help with some beading longevity, right?
 
I know that AG doesn't sell it, but my absolute favorite sealant is BlackFire Wet Diamond. The shine and slickness are insane.
 
I personally am using Collinite 476s on my United Gray Metallic GTI. I think it may not be technically a sealant but I do know it is cheap. My vehicle right now is under a few feet of snow and the water on the paint has been beading tight all day long as the snow melts off and the car hasn't seen a single wash or top up spray wax since september. If you were to use the Zaino you'd end up having to mix up the additive and do all the layers for maximum protection vs. one single coat of 476s. I do not know how 476s performs in warmer climates, but so far this winter it's been like an invisible car cover for my car.
 
I applied Wolfgang DGPS about a month ago, and still going strong - one word of advise though would be to replace the liquid wax with a paste wax. On my personal vehicle I use P21S Concours Wax

haha, I definitely am going to do the initial layer of 'nuba with a paste wax. I love SSII! I know that 'nubas don't have a great track record with durability, so after applying two layers (gonna try and spit-shine!) I'm going to use the LSSW as my maintenance 'nuba after my weekly wash :-D

If I use 476 & 845 from Collinite how would I go about getting them off? Also, could I layer 915 over top of 476? I kind've enjoy waxing frequently-ish.
 
Honestly, if you hand wash once a week, you could probably do the trick with a quick detailer like Wolfgang Detail Spritz.... It would certainly be cheaper and quicker - after the 2nd coat of wax, you're really not doing much more protection percentage wise.. i.e. after 2 coats, its kind of overkill

As far as the Four Star UPP, with no scientific backing mind you, I would say 1.5 months would not be a problem. I put two layers on my Black Mazda in mid to late August. When I sold the vehicle in mid November it was still beading like new.

Now it was daily driver that slept in the garage. I bathed it regularly and apply Four Star or Griot's spray on wax as part as my drying process. Lots of factors could determine the life of the sealant, but Four Star was a good choice for me.

Oh, and it look fantastic on the black paint.

For stupid tight beading, go with one of the Collinites or Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax 2.0. If you want durability, go with one of the Collinites. NXT 2.0 looks great and is very easy to use, but it is not as durable. The beading is great.
 
I have used Klasse AIO and now Im using 3M Performance Finish. Great stuff.
 
Are Collinite products waxes, not sealants? I never heard of sealants that contain carnauba.

Technically, yes, they are waxes. But they put most sealants to shame. And you can top the Collinites with a pure carnauba if you wish. For durability and beading, Collinite is one tough cookie to beat.
 
FYI, this is the beading I got with NXT 2.0 and topped with M26 High-Tech Yellow Wax. This picture was taken following a rain shower. You can get both of these products for less than $30 (at least locally) and get pretty impressive results.

Oh, I agree. I use Collinite 915, and it has the best beading of anything I've ever used. Lasts a very long time! Looks great, too. Best bang for your buck, by far, IMO!

Hood looks great, nice and tight, but the trunk is not as tight.

often called hybrids ... they use synthetic ingredients too. I believe one of the Collonites does, and FK High Temp comes to mind also.
