I'm sitting here just going through the buy in bulk section of the store. I gotta tell ya, it's getting crazy over here, haha. I'm creating a HUGE wishlist to purchase in the spring.

I would like some feedback on a few products that I'm interested in. Here they are, let me know if you have any experience with them...and if they're worth buying.

-Griots engine cleaner
-Flitz mini buff ball (mainly need it for aluminum rims)
-Wolfgang aluminum compound
-Optimum metal polish
-Wolfgang Fusion (is it worth the big price tag??)
-Megs Mirror Glaze #7 (want to use it on single stage mainly)
-Nevr Dull wad metal polish (mainly for bikes)
-Pinnacle ultra poly clay

I'd also like to try a really good sealant. I currently cycle through a few different types of sealant. But, I'd like to try something different. I'm thinking either Power Lock, or Wolfgangs Deep Gloss. What do you guys like to use??

Thanks for any feedback!!:dblthumb2:

No7 is a must have for single stage paint IMO!

This is a side affect of bad weather but it happens to all of us.

For paint sealants I like the following:

  • Menzerna Power Lock
  • Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant
  • DP Poli-Coat Paint Sealant

I was really leaning towards the Power Lock. It seems like a lot of people love that stuff. Thanks!

Thankfully I'm not snowed in, but the weather is still nasty. I haven't even had a chance to stock up and have a car scheduled for next week! I have 2 more scheduled and at least one aircraft by April. Payday is this weekend with 43 hours overtime... :D

Powerlock is a very good sealant without the fuzion price tag. I have both and alternate between the two because they both are very good.

+1 on the Powerlock!

The WG Deep Gloss is a great product too though. Why not get both and you can make the decision! haha

As for the Fuzion, a lot of detailers here really seem to love it. I haven't personally tried it out as the price is up there.

Sounds like a good start. I'm curious about several engine cleaners but due to the success I have had with Optimum Power Clean, I honestly can't see buying anything else. I would add Optimum Power Clean to the list and at least 1 bar of an aggressive clay. If you have the available funds right now, you should pick up the DP clay and Tire Gel on BOGO.

I have both Menzerna Power Lock and Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant, you can't go wrong with either.

That can be a bad thing with a new BOGO this friday!!!! LOL

I know trust me! I'm trying to hold out but I really like the BOGO on the DP Tire Gel. I'm sure I can come up with another $40 worth of product(s) to use the free shipping code, but I think I'm going to wait.

I know the feeling my wishlist has grown exponentially today. Here is what i have so far.

Grit Gaurd pad washer
Megs APC + D103
Megs Ultimate Polish
Optimum Opti-Clean
Menz SIP PO 83
Menz PO 85RD
Menz PO 106FA
Schmitt (White)
German Hand aplicator pads
3.5 in' backing plate
LC HT 4in. pads
Brinkman Swirl finder light
Pinnacle Unlta Polly clay

I think i may be going a little overboard with the Menz polishes.

Modern clearcoats have a very compact molecular structure basically creating an almost impermeable barrier to whatever it may come in contact with including oxygen. On the other hand single stage paints are more pourous in their molecular structure while still forming a protective barrier to the sheet metal, oxygen can get in these pours and react with the paint creating oxidation. No7 is a pure polish without any abrasives containg polishing oils that are capable of removing that oxidation and able to soak into those microscopic pours thus conditioning the paint and bringing back its original luster. So if you are working on a single stage paint job No7 is capable of bringing back or maintaining the finish without mechanically abraiding the paint. The oils in this product also give that "show car shine"! No7 is not however a LSP as it offers no protection to the paint! Thats about the best I can explain it! Hope it helps!

IMHO Yes, absolutely yes.

I was happy with Souveran, I am blown away by Fuzion. I'll keep experimenting with other waxes, but by far this is the best LSP I have ever used. Even after 5 months I am getting very good protection from it, and I have much less dust attraction problems than when I use Souveran. It is so easy to apply, a minuscule amount will cover half the car applied by DA, and it will pretty much wipe itself off if you look at it the right way.

As long as the bottles make you money...there is no overboard, ha. It will all get used eventually!:dblthumb2:

Interesting. I may have to try that stuff out. Do you use it for personal use, or for customers. I'm more interested for customers. But, with a price tag like that...I would probably need to add a bit to the price to use it.

If you do use it for customers...do you add to the price? If so, how do you sell it?

Helps very much, thanks! My buddy is having his car painted single stage as we speak. The painter said to wait 2 weeks until applying a wax or sealant. Would there be any "need" to use #7 before the sealant considering it's a brand new paint job?

Any need...No...but it is safe to use on fresh paint and it does give a nice look!

What he said :iagree:

I just think it works extremely well. If you let it sit on the paint. The oils will literally soak into the paint and spread. Removes the oxidation naturally by just feeding the dry paint the necessary oils to revive it. That way you're not stripping layers of paint with compound. Try it out! Takes forever to do correctly. But, it works and is much healthier for the paint. :dblthumb2:
