A little while back I was contacted by a new forum member about bringing in his 2017 VW GTI for a coating job. Turns out he was referred to me by some of the forum members here in a thread he posted asking for a professional detailer.

Here's the thread. Thanks again everyone for putting him in contact with me. Means more than you know!

So onto the goods. Sean purchased himself a nice 2017 VW GTI and we decided on IGL Quartz+ to protect the paint. The interior would also get a nice steaming and freshening up as he had already put 2k miles on it.

Here she is upon arrival. Usual dirt, grime and tons of brake dust.

Wheels/Tires

Mckees extreme Iron remover
Wheel woolies
Mckees tire and rubber rejuvenator
Mckees gloss tire gel
Sealed with Mckees Hydro Blue

Paint Wash/Decontamination

Carpro Reset 2BM
Nanoskin medium grade prep sponge
Various brushes for nooks etc
Guzzler drying towel

Paint Machine polishing

BOSS G21, Rupes yellow pad, m205
Rupes Nano Ibrid, Rupes yellow pad, m205

After decon the paint was in pretty nice shape and a medium polish took care of the defects. I did have to spot compound a couple spots but no big deal. I didn't grab any correction shots mainly because the defects were very shallow and hard to film on this metallic paint.

LSP - IGL Quartz+ ceramic coating and IGL Premier.

Trim was coated too.

Almost there!!!

All done!

One cool thing he had on this car was his front license plate bracket. It screws into the front bumper where a tow hook would go. Pretty neat! Just simply unscrew clean and replace!!

those GTI's have always been a classy looking hatch, nice job!

Really well done. Impressive work. Those VW dark blues always glow when they are really polished well.

Outstanding work Justin. :props:

As a self confessed fan of the mighty GTi Golf, I may be just a tad biased but there's no denying that this one, now sports an epic gloss indeed! Just look at that paint Pop! Wow! :buffing:

Pretty neat that people can come to the forum & ask for help, & then get the best results from doing so. Easy to see why people put your name forward Justin - beautiful workmanship mate.

Aaryn NZ. :dblthumb2:

Thanks again everyone!

Aaryn- Thanks you so much for always taking the time to write great positive things here and on my business page. I do have to agree that after sitting in a new GTI that these things are pretty sweet!

Nice work Justin. Just like Aaryn I am a bit of a VW nutter so always appreciate seeing one that has been detailed, and more importantly, an owner who cares for his dub.

I really like that blue - its not a common color to see over here (almost all are Lapiz Blue)

That's my car! Justin really did a great job and it looks fantastic.
