The Holy Grail of Compound - M101

Would it be fair to assume this polish would work well on a "New" European made automobile delievered to the States?
As has been stated numerous times, this product was specifically developed for Euro aftermarket paint, and that won't be found in the US unless someone imports a used vehicle that had some body work done in Europe. That said, and as others have noted, the product can work wonders on both European and domestic factory paint in some circumstances. But that can be said in some way, shape or form for almost anything. Heck, M105, which is almost universally loved by DA users everywhere, was developed as a rotary applied product, mostly with a wool pad no less. And yet........

:iagree:

The fact that Meguiars reps are talking the product down has me even more suspicous. Now I gotta have it! What a clever marketing strategy!

Wonder where its manufactured?
I don't know that we're talking it down... if anything, we're really proud of the product and what it's capable of. But it was developed for that specific market and so that's where it's marketed. Really as simple as that.

As for where it's manufactured, that's easy. Same as all the rest of our compounds, cleaners, polishes, waxes, sealants, industrial chemicals.... in the USA.

Wonder where its manufactured?

The gallons actually say made in the USA. But, it has directions written in English, Turkish, Russian, German, Italian, French and two other languages.

Still waiting :xyxthumbs:

Just fired off the email.

It would be fair to assume that I want to get my hands on some! ;)

We'll have to see about that...

Some notes about M101:

- It sticks to the pad and doesn't move. When used on a wool pad, the dots I applied to the pad did not disappear after use - the polish stays put. Priming the pad makes a huge difference.

- Less is more. Do not keep applying product to the pad. Clean it off with some compressed air, spritz some water on it and keep going.

- The work time is shorter than M105 (both versions). However, it removes all the defects in a very short time period. If you need more time, see the previous note.

- Slow down the speed. With a microfiber pad, it seems to like speed four and five, with a bit of moderate pressure.

In essence, this is what a compound should be.
