If the pad can't reach with the machine do it by hand...a finger can go a long way wedged into a foam pad (like when you do under door handles).

Don't kill youreself on this one man lol..you look like you're putting a lot into it. With the Chrome...like someone else said...ALL chrome is plated...if you mean its chrome plastic...it is still chrome..Chrome is actually just a type of rust that is clear rather than red (like standard rust). Plastic is now chromed rather than metal in many cases because its lighter and cheaper. They take the plastic...dip it in acid to etch it...then coat it in nickle to fill in the etched area and serve as sort of a 'primer' and then chrome plate ontop of it....but in any case ...its very thin...but it is super hard...you could use a chrome polish...but ive seen people use 105 on it and get great result it bad cases.

the water spots on the car are being stubborn and dont want to come off using a purple foam wool pad and m105... kind of aggravating :/

so the da mf cutting disc with m105 did the trick, im really starting to dislike the purple foam wool pads, not as aggressive as i thought! You know ever since I got my GG DA i've realized how much I dont like using my rotary "dewalt" . Theres just something about the DA with the MF system! I think im in love :)

can the DA MF cutting disc using m105 remove 2000 grit sanding marks?

setting up my test spot.

see that scratch on the right I wet sanded it down and compounded with m105 on a purple foam wool pad followed by mf cutting disc with m105 DA and a white lc flat pad DA with SIP

this is where I wet sanded 2500 grit (spot sanding all over the door) and hit it with the mf cutting disc with m105 in DA which DID remove the sanding marks with no problem.

This is my mf cutting disc after doing the hood, driver door and driver side rear door :( Very disappointed as i have seen this happen to quite a few people.

First off...nice job looks really nice so far...second of all...thats a lot of dust on the window...is it dirt or just dust from 105?

Lastly...it looks like you have a Griots...I've had the pad separation problem as well...but i dialed down my griots to 5 or 5.5 rather than cranking it at 6 and still got excellent correction and my pad did not over heat. What i'll do about 1/2 way through is...take a break...not just for me but for it...i'll do the tires or go get a drink or something...just easily pull the pad away from the plate so it can air out...it helps.

I still feel the damn glue on these things should NOT melt under the heat...on speed 6 or not...but it is what it is so i dialed down my speed...i'm HOPING you were using it on 6 lol. Plus i think that D300 says to be used on like speed 4 if im not mistaken.

All in all though looks like you're making progress. I wonder if 105 can take out 1500 grit marks or 2000?

Keep it movin man..hopefully you're almost done!

will I have taken out the 2000 grit marks with the mf using m105. I was using it on speed 5 the whole time :) that is dust on the window from m105. and thank you will its alot of wetsanding which take forever by hand when your a rookie at it because I have stronger grit papers bbut im not going lower than 2000 grit, which i am making a few passes on it which leads me to think why not use a lower grit less passes... but as for now, I have no PTG and its my first time . Regardelss of anything this car will look WAY BETTER than what it did..

Wow...then that sucks that the pad still came apart...maybe a little less down pressure? I use to really lay on the machine ...not so much that it wouldnt turn...but id have it down pretty hard...i lightened up some which helped lessen the heat build up...just kidna had to tweak my process....ive done 3 polish outs or so since i changed my process...and was able to make it through an entire car, truck and SUV with one pad...the same pad infact...with zero problems so far. Now it was a LC Flat polishing pad..but ive had LC Hydrotech and Megs Soft Buff 2.0 come apart on me...but again i was using more down pressure then and cranking it at 6 everytime. If i hit a bad area on the car...i'll kick it up to 6...but i try to stay conscious of how often i do it and try to give it time to cool down.

You are absolutely correct on it looking better than it did...is this a freebie for a friend or are you getting paid for this. Sure is a lot of work...but its looking awesome so far. Keep it up!

freebie... Is it alright to finish up after m105 with SIP on white pad and leave it like that? It seems to be finishing up pretty nice with sip no micro marring but then again i am using a DA :)

You always want to finish with a wax or sealant...compounds and polishes don't provide ANY protection so you have to put on wax or sealant...I've never used SIP but i think it is only a polish, not any type of wax. After that, you're golden

lol will, I know that I need a LSP what I meant was as far as polishing just sip not followed by po106.

Ok was JUST makin sure :). I think if it looks as good as you're saying it does...then yeah you should be ok in my opinion...if its bright and clear get that LSP on there and then make let your friend see it so she can faint lol

lol your too funny will. Man Im beat this car is WAY more work than I expected, I am now doing the headlights. I started at 1000 grit (lowest I had) and worked my way through 1500/2000/2500/3000 I just finished the 3000 I hope this comes out well It is my FIRST headlight job ever. Im going to hit it now with the rotary using a purple foam wool pad and m105 and follow that up with sip on a white pad then seal it with either wgdg 3.0 or KLASSE AIO and top it with coll 845

Have you read the thread on here about the 50/50 spar urethane/mineral spirits mix? Works really well..ive used it...very simply to apply and will out last any wax/sealant you could put on it

yeah but i'd have to go and get it lol. Im really just trying to finish this envoy.

used m105 and menz sip and this is what im ending up with :)
i believe this has orange peel look at it closely
