Seems like I'm always trying a new tire shine. What are some names you guys are using? I don't like greasy messes or fake looking tires. Just a good clean shine. We're detailing a couple cars every day, not including the washes and other packages, so I need it to be cost effective. Thanks!

Megs Hyper-dressing at 4:1 for tires. At that dilution you get 5 gallons for around $38

Meguiars Tire and Trim dressing, or Meguiars Hyperdressing at 3:1 or 4:1

^ agreed, i use PERL at 3:1 on tires (was going to use it at 1:1 or undiluted but don't feel the need to at the moment) and it's not too shiny or flat matte looking but right in between. it does where down after you drive hundreds of miles but most all water based dressings do and it lasts long enough till the next wash...

Meguiar's Hyper Dressing is my favorite.
As said above you can dilute it which makes for a great bargain.
I bought a gallon about three months ago and still have 3/4 left.

I too like Hyper Dressing. For a daily driver though, the durability is very low at 1:1. What ratio are you guys diluting I at? None the less, it is so affordable you can apply it as needed and a galling will still last forever.

Looking for durability, I recently tried Carpro PERL. I found when applied to a dry tire, durability has been good. It's only been 2 weeks of daily driving at 1:1.

I use hyper dressing on the engine and wheel wells. I don't like it on tires just because of the over spray. I hate having to wipe off the wheels and. Do you let it sit for a bit then wipe the tire because I have used it before and it can dry runny

Well I've been using the Turtle Wax Jet Black Endurance tire coating. Its about $14.00 for the kit at Wal-Mart, cheapest place I've found it, and comes with applicator, gloves and tire cleaner.

I assume your a business and surely it can be bought by the case which would cut the price for sure and once your customers sees how long it lasts, well, I'm sure they'll really appreciate it, thus telling others about you:thumbup:

I get an easy 6 weeks out of it and only re-apply to add the sheen back but even after 6 weeks the tires are black, not brown and clean up with a simple swipe of a towel with quick detailer. I'm sure the other products listed are good but this TW tire coating can't be beat!

I just used turtle wax on my winter tires. They look good. I'll see how long it lasts for me

Well, Im not sure what everyone else does but I personally dont spray it on the tires... I spray it on the applicator and then wipe it on the tire. :dblthumb2:

I like the up-sell idea! We use an applicator for most tires and spray only the knobby mudding tires. Right now, we testing a Simoniz dressing that came highly recommended. I'm going to give the Meguiar's a shot as soon as they return my call with pricing. Thanks for the awesome feedback!

FWIW, there is a "use it all you want" 30% off at Advance AP that'll get it down to $11-ish. I got it last week but haven't had a chance to try it out yet on any of CarMomma's or CarBoy's tires. I did put a layer of the TW Jet Black Trim Coating on her left running board for testing and so far, so good. Her *MAIN GOAL* is that it not provide any extra 'slip' as she actually uses the step to get into and out of her Denali. Asked her the next day and she gave it the thumbs up. :dblthumb2:

Back to the OP;

Megs Hyper Dressing may indeed be your most cost effective solution. I don't like it though as unless you do lots of wiping, (and then don't drive till it's dry) it'll sling.

I'd look more into gels.

Really like Opti-Bond and the in-house brands from AG. If for no other reason.... that they don't sling.

Want something that'll shine like crazy for production work? Call Zep! ;) CarMomma works at a car auction and they used to (when I was still driving a tow truck) buy an aerosol Zep product, multiple cases at a time. I can assure you however that it's LOADED with silicone! (As are quite a few tire shines to this day.) Not what I'd put on my own vehicles, but it sure worked for them on the "running and driving" cars.

Is there a code or just walk in and ask for the discount:confused:
