My thoughts and prayers go out to the families affected by the school shooting today. I hope no one on AGO was effected.

My heart breaks for those parents, school is suppose to be a safe area that supports growth. Truly ashame that anyone would harm children.

I really don't get how someone can even think for a split second that doing something like that is justifiable. It's just sickening. These poor kids are going to be terrified to go back to school and that's just not right. School is supposed to be a safe place to have fun, see friends and learn. Something like this should never happen.

I grew up a mile from this school and my parents still live there. My mom is a teacher in the district and my childhood babysitter works in the school and both are safe. It's unreal, can't believe this happened. It's just heart wrenching on so many levels. Can't do anything more than send thoughts and hug your kids tighter. Thoughts go out to all.

Thoughts and prayers to the entire community.

This was a heartless act by a heartlesss and gutless person. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims affected by this gutless act. My heart sank when hearing of the ages of the children. All the victims were defenseless in this tragedy.

Thoughts and prayers to all of those touched by this, one of our worst tragedies in this country! Twice in one week is too much, God help all of those to get through the upcoming days, weeks, monthes.....years!

Events like this affect all parents when children are involved. My thoughts go out.

Today we all became painfully aware that our county experienced another senseless tragedy. Evil paid a visit to a small quiet Connecticut town, an evil that no one could see coming. There were no warning signs, no flashing lights or whistles to warn. No one can predict the unpredictable and although this scenario has played out before we still fail to see or cast a blind eye to its root cause…

This isn’t about pro-gun or anti-gun and in fact this isn’t about guns at all. What we are witnessing is a global pandemic of lawlessness and moral decay. I use the term pandemic because this is like an epidemic of infectious disease that has spread through human populations and no one is immune.

Trying to rationalize or come to terms of something so irrational is nearly impossible. Being intelligent, we naturally look for rational explanations in order to make sense of this tragedy and there simply isn’t a rational explanation, the rational cannot comprehend the irrational.

We will continue to point fingers. You’ll hear gun control, waiting periods, mental health screening, or the all-out ban on firearms period… In the end, we will continue to ignore the root cause of this issue because it’s something much more systemic than an inanimate object such as a gun or a knife, its man’s culture, we are to blame.

There is no law, no security system, and no safeguard that can protect us from ourselves.

We are bombarded daily about the atrocities man commits against man. The senseless violence that plagues our culture is rampant and worsens by the day.

In Beijing Chine a knife-wielding man stabbed and injured 22 children and one adult outside a primary school in central China. The attack happened as students were arriving for classes. This is just the latest in a series of periodic rampage attacks at Chinese schools and kindergartens.

This isn’t about right and wrong, this is about hate. The question that begs to be asked is what causes so much inner hatred that could result in someone carrying out an where 20 children between the ages of 5 and 10 lay dead.

This was a true tragedy of epic proportions. My heart aches today and I pray for the souls of those children, adults, and their families..... My sincerest condolences go out to the families and friends of the victims....

Some will ask why God allowed this to happen, it’s because he’s not allowed in schools anymore…God bless all of you....

Very well written Bobby. I told my wife as she cried last night over this tragedy that I couldn't put words to this. Your post sums up the sad mind set.

Prayers going out...............................Amen

I think it's time for everyone to turn in their guns IMO

I would turn in every one of my guns if it would stop this kind of thing from happening. I

would do it in a heart beat! But we all know motivated people with evil intentions will still get

their hands on guns.

I don't need no stinking gun to defend myself

"The wolf will live with the lamb; the leopard will lie down with the young goat. The calf and the lion will graze together, and a little child will lead them."

I wasn't directly effected, but as the father of only one child a kindergartener I was upset. When my son called me after school to tell me he loved me I started to cry. I could not imagine if I was one of the parents that never would have been able to hear their kids voices again.

I do not think one can blame the schools. It should the parent's responsibility to educate children on morals but violence just all across our society in games and movies so constant brainwashing. Guns seem to be the answer to solving problems.

You see it even in the forums where someone quickly mentions how a gun will solve an issue (annoying neighbor, dissatisfied customer).

My radio and television will be off for many days.

Can not bring myself to listen nor watch the news...................... :(

Well Said BobbyG!

My thoughts and prayers to those affected by this!

The kid had mental issues. How can you ever control stuff like this? Are you supposed to 5150 every single person that has any type of mental issue? Stuff like this will never be 100% preventable. I'm so very sad! This is one HORRIBLE tragedy! My heart hurts for the parents, children, families, etc. However, I hate to say it, but this is the society we live in, and it's something we'll always have to be aware of.
