Also, I could zaino my car once a month every month with two bottles of zaino for the average time I keep a car and come out cheaper than Opti-Coat![]()
Which Zaino product are you speaking of that lives up to it's terms? (Without advertising, of course).
This is an excellent point that I have read before about Zaino. I cant speak to Zaino since I havent used it but if it doesnt prevent acid rain etching its of limited value IMO.It's important to remember that durability and protection can be two different things. Zaino may hang around for a long time, but in my experience it does not provide as much protection as many other sealants that may not last quite as long. Personally, I find that water is much more likely to etch when using Zaino than many other products.
I don't know what the toughest sealant is, but FK1000P is right up there. It provides better protection against spotting and survived that hellish winter we had, fending off salt and chemicals very well.

FK1000P has lasted a solid 2 months for me.wow, sure are alot of posts lol. what i am looking for in a sealant is the gloss/shine/glow my fk1000p gives but protection to last atleast 1-2 months. really looking for a new liquid sealant. as i stated i will use the sealant for the winter months. i will still follow with a qd'er like fk425 and twice a week boost the sealant with a spray wax.
I called collonite directly a while back and they told me that some of their "waxes" contain more carnauba than others, but none of them are 100% carnauba. So could you consider collonite waxes a "hybrid" sealant/wax product? Have you ever used FK1000P, Dana?
I live 2 miles away from the factory. They are on Lincoln Ave in Utica.. (NY).
They make very small 10 Gallon batches at a time. Very cool place..

I'm saying it has lasted 2 months for me and still doing fairly well. I might be able to get another month out of it. I don't believe these claims of sealants lasting 6-9 months holding true. At least I've never seen it...2 months doesn't seem like a long time for a sealant.
