Trim/Plastic Restorers - 4 different products

I don't think it says anywhere on UTTG page, but anyone have any idea if you can use UTTG on a vinyl tonneau. I've tried 303 and Tonneau Tonic. I haven't been too impressed with either and neither have lasted that long and they both run down the sides of my truck. Even if UTTG would run down the sides, it wouldn't bother me to use a little QD to clean it off if it lasted longer.

I hope no one feels that I am trying to hijack SeaJays thread, just got me curious about UTTG on a tonneau.

Thanks:xyxthumbs:

I think if you read the entire thread it will answer your questions.

I haven't used it specifically for that but... Well, I think Jinx said back in January that he was buying some specifically for that application. I think it was in post #6 of this thread. http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum...ore-protect-vinyl-top-using-303-products.html

Maybe PM him

It's been 3 weeks since I did this test and I finally was able to go out and get some pics of how they are holding up.

The UTTG is still going strong with little to no change since about a day after application.

The Black wow I think would have worked better if I had really rubbed it and blended it better.

Note I have not washed my truck since application. It's been raining a lot and I've been extremely busy.

In this pic the products from bottom to top are UTTG, Poorboys Trim Restorer, RaggTopp vinyl protectant, and Black WOW.

So I'm definitely liking the UTTG and would definitely recommend it.

Wow, thats crazy. It REALLY does look like it did in the first pic after application.

It does minus the dirt spots. lol. I really need to set aside some time to clean it. Especially if I'm going to trade it in...still trying to figure out what I want.

Thank you for the update. I had my money on the ultima. if you had your money on any of the areas to the left, you can send it this way.

What are you thinking of getting?

Nice test! I've had good results with Black Wow on smaller surfaces, they have to be scrupulously clean and I've had best results with repeated applications and rubbing it into the surface.

That said, I use UTTG+ on my tonneau cover with the best results of any product I've tried! The crazy beading rivals the 845 on the rest of the truck. :dblthumb2:

Nice review man! I'm very interested in how this will turn out. I've been using UTTG for months now. As far as application goes, I've been really happy with it. Can't speak for it's durability because I don't see my customers vehicles that often. But, I've been happy with it's ease of use alone.

I must say though, yesterday it was raining pretty good on a vehicle that I just applied it to, and I kept checking to make sure it wasn't running. It didn't even budge...I was impressed. Especially since I put it on probably 30 minutes or so before it went in the rain. :dblthumb2:

I have used it on 2 different tonneau covers and It looked great and didn't run one bit! It has been on one for about 2 and a half months and still holding up!

I honestly have no clue! I was wanting a Jeep Wrangler but they don't get much better gas mileage than my truck (15 city and 19 highway).

I need to down size as the gas is really killing me ($100 to fill my tank once a week). I've been looking online at different SUVs, small truck, even some hatch backs. I want something that I can still travel with my detailing supplies when I go mobile. I was considering getting a small SUV and an enclosed trailer. Enclosed trailers are pretty expensive though.

Probably something with not as much plastic on the back :)

Amen to that!! I'm just glad I didn't get the Avalanche with all the cladding. I only have to deal with the back of the truck and now the entire thing!

I must say that I'm really impressed with the UTTG. Not only with the test I did either. I applied it to the Porsche rims I did a few weeks ago. Here is a pic of the before and after. Really did a great job on these rims and it's still holds up well. Granted this car is garage kept and rarely taken out.

Before - Not too bad just a little dull

And After - Much better!

I've also used it on a friends car for the cowl and plastics on the side view mirrors. It's still holing up well and didn't run at all. I'm really impressed with it.

Im glad to see this product getting the attention it deserves from more and more people. It might be my favorite of all products. Definitely the one product from the Ultima line that nobody can compete with. Other products people can have an opinion on but with this product facts are facts... Unless of course you prefer the trim protectant to wear off quickly. LOL In that case other products are certainly available.

I should add since the title of this thread is trim restorers that I'm not saying it's the end all be all for restoration of trim. But for protecting trim that hasnt been faded out really bad it's definitely the tip of the top. And it does have some restorative properties. More than the marketing suggests at least.

Well I have to thank you. From you speaking of it on the forum it made me want to give it a try. And I'm more than impressed and it was definitely money well spent.
