Try this without a steamer

I'm considering adding a steamer (McCulloch MC-1275) to and would like to understand how to use the device properly. In the case of the picture shown, how did you apply the steamer? How much time did it take to clean? What considerations should I review in regards to what to should/should not use the device on. Thanks in advance for the info.

With the machine you are talking about, you will not have as much of a problem. The steam from the Dupray is over 300 degrees. I applied it to the front of the tray with a towel mostly covering it. Moved the steam head a little to keep it from being in one spot too long. Once the steam had a chance to dissolve all of the gunk, I wiped it up and repeated. Whole process was only a couple of minutes. The Mc steamer will do the same thing but will take a little longer. As long as you keep it moving, you can use it on most anything. I am careful with the plastic parts on the dash and leather but still use it.

The Hill Injection is a beast. I tested a Tosca locally at Dupray and I was going to buy it, but my friend found me a killer deal on a used Polti Eco Pro 3000 which for my needs right now is enough. I only paid $250 locally for my Polti, however the Hill Injection is in another league for sure.

Great job on the interior!

Yes, it a beast. You got a great deal on the Polti. Thanks.

Oh great, now I have another thing on my growing list of must haves.

Great job.

Good lord that is a dirty console area. Nice job on the turn around.

Well, I bit the big bullet yesterday... ordered the Hill Injection. Looking forward to the upgrade!

How come no one mentions the optima steamer? That thing is pure BOSS.

I just received my MCculloch steamer in and WOW!!! What have I been missing? I first tested it on the tile in the house figuring it was the hardest surface to clean. Zipped though a groutline in a snap and made it look brand new. Moved on to the Microwave and it zapped all particals like they were wet noodles. Now I'm headed to the car to test on plastic, leather and wheels. What's most impressive is you don't need chemicals to clean.!!!(say it with me again) Man, this will pay for it's self in about 3-6 months. I'm always concerend about what dilution rate to use and as most of you can identify with me on that. Sometimes you can't go heavy when you realy want to. Then you are force to scrub or rub and most times that's never the best process to you. Thanks to this thread I'm going steam happy. More updates to come.

I love my tornador and still use it a lot. But I'm hooked in steam. Haven't found much it won't clean.

Ok you've got me curious with a couple things here...primarily the engines, door jambs and wheels/wheel wells lol. The areas where the hinges are...is SUCH a pain in the ass to clean...now the video shows that it does a great job but they cut it and dont really show how long it took...and sometimes the dirt in there is mixed with grease so its REALLY bad...and i find without agitation, it wont budge with my McCulloch.

So what kinda time frame are you looking at being able to clean the bad stuff with your steamer? Does even the greasy stuff just melt off or does it take some agitation?

The bad stuff does melt off. Those pesky hinges are no match for steam. I rarely agitate anything. Just steam and microfiber. A little agitation might speed it up but I'm too lazy. It only takes seconds to break down the gunk. For example, the mess in the console at the beginning of this thread probably took less than five minutes to eliminate.
