Used Nanoskin fine grade clay sponge

I been wanting to pull the trigger on the speedy prep towel fine grade, but I havent for this reason. If your going to polish does it really matter if it marrs the paint slightly?
What's considered slight? This marred the hell outta the soft paint!

Wow sorry to hear that Mark I've only heard good things about those new products do you think you would of had the same problem with the Nano skin cloth not the sponge

Yep, I think it would have. For hard paint, it would probably be a good product.

Is the sponge made by Carapro ? I know that Optimum makes one also
All the clay alternatives I've tried are no different as far as marring. I've tried optimum & carpro. Back to regular clay I go.

I've got the speedy prep towels and have yet to have any issues with it marring of paint! Have done nearly 50 vehicles with one towel! I lube mine with Meguairs Last Touch... Sorry about your luck!

I have heard the nano skin DA pads mar even worse than the mitts. Old fashion clay and lube I go!

I'm going back to traditional clay FOR SURE! Clay magic blue FTW!!

I had a marring issue with the fine towel as well. I did use it on glass first but maybe I didn't do it enough? I haven't used it since. I will try it again on a test panel before using it on anything else.

I used the nanoskin autoscrub on soft Toyota paint and black ford paint. I really only had marring if I put too much pressure accidentally on the polisher. And it came out with a Meg's black buffing pad and ULW. Other than that the autoscrub was much better than clay IMO.

I have done over 60 car with nanoskin pad . It's the heavy one. Never had an marring problem.

I use soap and water
I use the weight of the da and no more
On speed 1

Winner!!!!

i have used the speedy prep towel(fine) and the only time it marred was when i first used it on a black honda fit, it may have been that i didnt break it in enough on glass, the DP clay lube or might have been the pressure i was using. but since then ive had no problems, no marring issues on the subaru WRX i did and that had soft paint. But i also changed my clay lube to ONR at the QD dilution. So far i am loving it cuts my time by 1-1 1/2 hours compared to traditional clay
