My brother bought a car to sell, and I seen this crazy oxidized trunk , that was so bad in some parts the oxidation defused 100% of the light

As you can see this thing was rough!

I started to wetsand with 1500

That's all the nasty oxidation covering the shine !

I then started to wetsand with trizact 3000 grit, as you can see the gloss is starting to come back

Now it was time for the fun part and the moment of truth to see if I can get this ugly duckling looking decent !

I whipped out the Boss G21 with Fast correcting cream and a boss microfiber cutting pad (this combo is a defect terminator) I then followed with perfecting cream and perfecting pad

Let's see the results

Wow! Nicely done.

I too would have started right off the bat by sanding rather than compounding that mess out.

Thanks for sharing.

Wow, looks great. I'm surprised there was much clear left under that oxidation. Or, is that a single stage paint?

Good stuff. And yeah^ I was surprised as well to see there be enough clear left to do something with it

From the initial photos i thought it looked like clearcoat failure. A nice surprise to see it all cleaned up.

It was clear coat, and bad 4.5 mils of paint, and to be honest it was so bad there was nothing to mess up, so I just went to town lol, there is still a ton of paint left as well

Yes me too I didn't think it would come out like that..... I was expectating 50% better.

It had 4.5 mils of paint

It came out really nice considering the condition it was in lol

Nice work, Next Level!

You and the Boss killed it!

Great job, it sure did look like no hope but you got it looking WAY BETTER than before, definelty will add to resale value, your brother better share some of the prophet👍🏾
