the hood came out the best and i buffed the longest on it with pro polish and white pad
the trunk looks the worst and it almost looks like it could be from spreading the pro polish with the pad
What polish and pad combo was you using ?
Also it might not be that your pad polish combo, the first thing you need ?
GET AN INSPECTION LIGHT RIGHT AWAY.
You can not get great results without an inspection light. Working the pad and polish and not inspecting afterwards is guessing.
Your assuming the defects are gone.
You inspect the area you worked with the light and determine if your satisfied if not then you make another pass.
I consider my self pretty good at polishing and understand what it takes, however without the proper lighting or inspection light to see what you have or haven't taken out. Your going to get dissapointing results like you have experienced.
Also how long did you work on your car for? If it took you a long time, like 7+ hours then your polish Pad combo isn't good.
If you planned on 80% + defect removal and only worked for 2-5 hours that's very very unlikely, to happend
