What are you listening to...?

yes, this song is perfect. pretty much anything by them is great, minus the Coda album, but that really doesnt count.

As a huge Zep fan I have to disagree with Coda not counting. "Darlene" is a pretty good tune, "Wearing and Tearing" gets me pumped anytime I hear it, a middle finger to the punk generation who thought they were over the hill and who doesn't like "Bonzo's Montreux" or as I call it Moby #### II. Speaking of an album like Coda, to this day I'm shocked there isn't more Zep music out there. The DVD of Zeps early stuff is unfreakin' believable! The power of them is unmatched by anybody, period. I didn't put Jimmy Page in my top guitarist because I look at Zep as a unit and not one individual, although using a violin bow to play a guitar must have blown people away back then, blows me away anytime I watch my Zep DVD box set!

Idk coda just never did anything for me. Bonzos Montreux is good, I like the version on the box set with moby #### and bonzos montreux together. Theres just something about Led Zeppelin, like you mentioned as a unit they just work and thats that. I also agree, surprised there isnt more stuff released. Id like to see new remasters of all the albums and some new live material. Wouldnt mind seeing some deluxe box sets like the Pink Floyd Immersion sets. Im a sucker for that kind of stuff. The Led Zeppelin DVD is great. I have the mp3 tracks for it and its just great. I really love the version of stairway to heaven on there.

One of the most amazing performances is Zep playing to about 50 people, all sitting down on their butt's and them playing "How many more times", are you kidding me! At the time there was no way they knew what they were watching.

This may sound crazy but for the life of me why The Beatles get more pub than Zep just doesn't make sense. I know how many great songs the Beatles have, can't deny that but musicianship and variety go to Zep IMHO and then swagger.....is there any contest here?! In the history of the world, well musical world atleast, there has never been a greater body of work by anyone, anywhwere at anytime, greater than Zep's 1st 6 releases, 7 if you count "The Song Remains the Same". All the talent in the world was given to them and they used every bit of it and may have even borrowed some more even. I'm a HUGE fan of their debut, greatest debut ever IMHO, the power of that album can't be denied. Then came the 2nd release, a bit more pop but some blues still in there. Then the 3rd release came along, more acustic but again, the blues finds its way in there with what I consider to be their greatest song ever "Since I've been loving you". You watch that live version on "The Song Remains the Same" and your hooked! Then came the 4th album....rock superstardom was cemented, a masterpiece (although I grow tired of "Black Dog" and "Rock and Roll" being soooo overplayed on the radio). So at this point you'd think, surely there isn't anymore left in the tank, right.....WRONG! "Houses of the Holy" continued to show the variety of Zep and mystical sounds like "No Quarter", an awesome song, especially live on "5he Song Remains the Same". Once again, the tank is runnin' low you'd think but no, another release and this time a double album and yet another anthem (something sorely missing in today's no talent music scene) "Kashmir" showed everyone their middle east influence, something not really scene before, not to mention songs like "Ten years gone" and "The Wanton Song", Bonham on display once again. Then it was time to release a live performance, an attempt to capture the energy of them and put it down on an album and a concert movie, WOW!

Then a series of tragic events happen to the band, Robert Plant get's in a bad car accident and breaks his leg, his son dies, Jimmy Page is hopelessly addicted to heroin and the accult and the spirit of the band seems to have dried up but no, they put out "Presense" and "In through the out door", both albums aren't quite what their fans were used to but then again, what did they really get used to anyways, every album has always been different! Songs like "All of my Love" were surely radio favorites then and are now for sure but then you get songs like "I'm goin' crawl" shows the blues influence once again.

The band pushed all the limits, created some unreachable ones themselves and produced a body of work that NOONE WILL EVER MATCH, EVER! Today's music could produce 10 yrs worth of music, not that they could and it wouldn't match any of the 1st 6 studio releases from Zep. Hell, even how the band got their name, mucical legends sitting around a bar and a pasing comment names the band and the slight misspelling cements it, you can't dream this all up but they lived it and we all either listened to it or for the lucky ones, even got to see it!

THANK YOU ROBERT, JIMMY, JOHN-PAUL and JOHN (RIP)!

My fiance is a country fan and we get into arguements all the time but I'm working on backing down on that, its not worth it. I don't get modern country but IMO its not "real" country. I mean you've got non traditional musical acts coming in and putting out a country album, collecting the money and moving on. I mean really, Taylor Swift for instance. Putting on a pair of cowboy boots doesn't make you country but everyone buys her music and check this out, its played on other stations, not just country, so there's a lot of sheep out there, didn't you guys learn with Shania Twain?

Slipknot. Always gets me in the mood for my tournament coming up

Got turned onto them about 4 yrs ago....WOW! They can play and for me that's the bottom line, their look works because of that and actually makes the whole experience that much more impressive! The singer can sing, I mean really, really sing but can also belt it out when need be! I know its not a deep track of theirs but "Duality" is one the greatest songs for driving too, good thing I've got a hybrid or I would've lost my drivers license years ago to that song!

For detailing cars I really like listening to jazz, Miles, Coltrane, Monk, Weather Report and the like. I have listened to other music but something about great jazz helps me create my own little masterpiece.

I listened to the new Santana cd again on my way to work again, "Shape Shifter" is another good cd to mellow out to but its not that mellow persay, just great instrumental music to listen too. This is for the true Santana fan for sure, not a casual listener of his music.

Slayer is cool. Im probably in the 0.01% here as far as taste in music. Anywhere from Trance, Techno, Death Metal, Black Metal, Violent Underground Rap & Hip Hop like Necro, Cage, ill Bill, Jedi Mind Tricks. Which are all Caucasian artists by the way, really breaks the stereotype of "rap" music.
