What are you listening to...?

The amazing Antoine Baril !

It's sick enough that he is so talented to be able to play all the instrumental parts of this RUSH medley ...

... then he goes and pulls off the same thing to cover what is the greatest band lineup in rock history bar none (in terms of musicianship), Steve Howe, Rick Wakeman, Bill Bruford & Co. aka YES

The sequences from approx. 4:00-8:00 and 10:20-13:00 are just staggering ...:bowdown::bowdown:

All the tasty gear too ... vintage Gibson & Rickenbacker guitars, Rickenbacker 4001 bass & 4003 bass, even a rare miniMoog just like Rick Wakeman's ! Not sure where he got the cathedral pipe organ.

I have seen that.

And no argument on the collective musicianship from the YES lineup.

A ton of Dream Theater, post Portnoy era.

Going to record a lot of drums this month.

One track is for my friend Dave who sang for STP side project, Talk Show. It will be my fifth with him! Dave play as some excellent rock music. I get to play cool Jeff Porcaro, and Vinnie Colaiuta grooves with him.

The other project is with the guitarist I worked with in Bloodline Riot 2013-2015. He's a guitar hero and I get to play more "proggy" drumming, which I love. Mike Mangini has been a giant inspiration for this material. In my mind he is the drummer I was always aiming to be.

To get into a mellow grove while detailing ( I sometimes rush the job) I find Grateful Dead tunes slow me down to a smooth defined pace

I’ll forever feel the warm sun and smell of 2 stroke premix when I hear that song. The year it was released it was played non stop while I was at the Silver Lake Sand Dunes.

Listening to SRV.

I saw Motley Crue open for Ozzy on March 6th, 1984 when I was 14 years old growing up in the D at the Joe

Even seen Vince at small casino's here in WI, when he was doing his solo stuff

BTW...I seen the 84' tour at "The Valley" when I was 13 .... LOL we are around the same age

You've been to waaaaay more shows than I have! I saw "Girls, girls, girls" and "Dr. Feelgood" Tours too and remember the drum set going across the mainfloor and also it tipping upside down! The Crue ALWAYS put on a great show
