What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

 Brilliant Shine Rinseless

(Due to lack of tone via the internet, not sure if you were kidding or not, but either way I laughed out loud)
I was kidding. But it's actually Brilliant Finish Rinseless Wash.

So as my scratched right eye heals I decided to do an Adam's rinseless wash on the ES as it sprinkled yesterday on it. I decided to to use the Adam's version of the BRS and NO pre-treating...first time no pre-treatingSince the car just had a days dust I felt it was ok to do this

When I was done I took mercy on my neighbors Lexus RX350...it's black too and I've seen it washed ONCE since moving here June of 2020. I had plenty of Adam's RW but added an extra ounce of solution and a gallon of water. I did one panel at a time as it's sunny, hot and humid...WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Now because I'm 5'6" and not 6'6" I couldn't do the roof, so I'll do that later when she notices her SUV cleaned up.

Once I was done with the body, which needs a major paint correction....HOLY SH!T, I turned to the tires and wheels. For this I reached for the heavy artilary...iron removing wheel cleaner from Eagle 1 and Gyeon Tire Cleaner and all 4 brushes. I sprayed the Eagle 1 wheel cleaner on and it turned into Brentwood immediately! Then the Gyeon Tire Cleaner and they turned INSTANTLY B R O W N! I scrubbed the tires and wheels real good, along with the wheel wells and dried each cleaned tire/wheel individually. Once done I applied a base of Gyeon Tire dressing where it spread well but because it's a gel I needed something more liquid, so I went over them with Adam's graphene tire dressing for a 2nd coat. The applicator had enough product on it so I did a quick swipe of the lower molding as a little nice tough.

This SUV needs a 2 day exterior detail...in a garage...on a 72 degree day...with lots of Coke ZERO sugar in a cooler filled with ice

Now I'm done and about to take a shower and relax, is that what people call it when your off work mending your health

***UPDATE***

So I tried taking a couple pics and the owner was out there and I told her her ride was going to be on the internet, she asked why I said because it's clean and she tells me "she took a hose to it yesterday". She said she didn't want her license plate to be shown...still not noticing I washed the car and did a nice detail to the tires/wheels.

I mean I'm using a prescription ointment on my one eye and I can see and drive still but how do you NOT notice your never washed car all cleaned up. Honestly I did this to surprise her and do something nice, I don't need anything in return but to NOT notice

***UPDATE TO THE UPDATE***

She actually knocked on my.door to tell me she didn't want her car on the internet and then asked me why did I want to take a pic of it anyways. I told her because it's clean and then she tells me again that she "put a hose to it" and I said "I washed it myself". She said said "bless you but you don't have to do that" and I said well I was out there doing my car and wanted to surprise you.

Lesson learned at 51 yrs old, never stop learning because learning never stops. I guess I don't have to worry about doing the roof now and to think I was going to offer to do a massive overhaul on the soft Japanese black paint for FREE because I wanted to see what I could do

There is a reason for the “no good deed goes unpunished” axiom

Sadly

But it’s good it doesn’t keep some of us from continuing to try in small ways to make it a better world

Good on ya for trying

Happy Friday

My faith in humanity has been restored. My neighbor left me a bag with a nice scented candle and thank you note. She said she was sorry for being rude and wasn't used to some being kind just because.

I have so much free time that I would love to go around and do this more often. When I see someone washing their car and I observe a bad technique I wanna do something right then and there.

Washing someone car the way we do can really make someone hsppy

*Appliance owner, party of One*... :(

How'd your eye get scratched? Nothing major I hope?
Not sure how I did it, touched something with my hand and got it in there. It is getting better, thanks for asking

Don’t worry your a “class act” to do a good deed for neighbor and to get response where she is unappreciative and totally ignores your efforts, 🤦🏽#♂️don’t worry her loss !!!! Hopefully another neighbor saw your good deed and ask you to do their car

It's the very first thing I have done, if it hasn't already, to any vehicle I buy. I've only ever bought second hand, and window tint is very common in this sunburnt land, so you just have to make sure it's a good job.

I had a friend with a really cheap old Hyundai, with a very bad tint job, bubbles all over the back window. The police pulled him over and made him peel it off, it was that or get a fine.

I usually do but "life got in the way" around the time I got the ES

I ordered a couple of wire shelves and a few more clear totes from Amazon last week

Only 1 shelf showed up but it’s a start

I am trying to get away from using the bigger totes and get my microfiber stuff a bit more organized and easier to see

The 4 totes still on the way will allow me to have all my towels stuff in clear totes

Dust here is a problem so totes are essential

I was using a cheap particle board shelf unit I scrounged up but that’s disintegrating, plus I’m trying to get anything that’s not waterproof out of this half of the garage so I can wash cars when it’s blowing too hard outside

My wife ordered the little cart for a closet or something but it didn’t work out so I repurposed it until I can get a bigger taller service cart

Work in progress

Got my windows tinted with X-pel ceramic tint, 35% and they couldn't wash it afterwards so I told them no worries. They gave me a free carwash though and I could use it whenever...even winter, so that's when I'll use it for being so patient with them this morning (8 a.m. appointment and brought my car in @9:40 a.m.)

Once I got home from there and the Stinger meet I washed the ES. It wasn't dirty, just a days dust and smudges from the window tinters. This time I mixed up some DG rinseless wash and got after it...in the sun, so 1 panel at a time, not used to that Once done there I used Brake Buster on the rims, 1 brush used, rinsed down and dried. I then applied a light coat of Gyeon Tire for a slightly different look on the tires. Finished up spraying some CG's Signature scent in the interior.

Now I've go back out and re-dry the ES because it rained for about 20 seconds on it right after I was done and bringing in my supllies
