What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Which springs did you go with? How'd it drive after? I was thinking H&R's with a set of either MRR HR10's or Niche Targas[/URL]

Tanabe NF210. Drove great, Koni’s helped.

More fun and games during lockdown.

Maintenance wash and Reload for the Falcon.

My God is that an amazing looking car! How in the hell did Ford not even consider that for our market

So, I wasn't happy with the wheel woolies boars hair brush shape so I trimmed and dipped.

Anyone who has one will notice the difference.

Gave my wife’s car it’s last wash. Gonna miss it. This car performed well in all conditions, had power to spare for our needs, sounded amazing and was a head turner. I never saw another in 3 years exactly like ours. I thank it for being a good car to my family. It goes back on lease this week.

That Mercedes looks great in red like that. Hopefully the dealer won’t destroy it while “detailing” it for next owner.
When I returned my wife’s previous car the sales guy asked what I did to keep the car so shiny. I said I don’t let people like the dealer touch it. I was actually afraid I’d see the car later and see they ruined my work. I prefer to never see it again and keep it in my memory as a properly cared for vehicle.

Thank you very much. Really appreciate that. My wife always says whomever gets our cars after us is very luck because I take real good care of them cosmetically and mechanically. I have the rim and tire protection and recently got all the rims refinished that needed it so that the next owner will get off to a good start. I hope that am enthusiast gets it after me but who know.

Gave the Acura a bath today. Foam presoak then 2 BM was with DP Foam Soap Extreme, then a quick a spritzing with Crystal Mist since pollen is starting to ease up.

I’ve been using McKee’s Pollen-X with great success. I’ll have used the 2 BM in a long time, I haven’t done the MF laundry in a while and I was out of of forest green and yellow towels!

It’s getting time in the next few weeks to do a complete detail but have to replace my clay mitt and pickup some iron-x.

Finished compounding. Didn’t get as much done yesterday as I wanted, kept getting interrupted. In honesty this think needed wool and rotary to make it look good but I’d say it’s 85-90% with a metric $hit load of rids and some of them are worthy of needing touch up. Tomorrow will do a rinseless to get the dust off it and then polish away...kinda forgot I have Q2 primer. Would be awesome if it will pull the micro marring out as that would finish me off for a prep wipe and coat

Hi Klasse. We ordered a 2020 GLC43 in Blue. Got every option except the performance seats. We wanted the bigger GLE53 which replaces our current GLE 43 but that won’t be released til much later this year. So we got the smaller GLC but we should be ok w it in terms of size. We have a minivan for soccer duty and family stuff. I will start a new thread once its detailed. I should be picking it up on Tuesday. I considered not picking it up but I am sure in a few months when country is reopened we will need it and I’ll wish I had. Plus its our first time ordering a car so too excited to not get it. Wife’s bday is next month and I can’t go out and get her something so I’m having the dealer put a ribbon on it for her.

Finally took time to try a new coating in my Lexus with PPF film on the hood and front bumpers. PPF has been on the car hood for 2-years at this time and did have a few rock chips that tore into the PPF.

Carpro SKIN has been on for just over 6-months and has done well but lacked the slickness I wanted. I have tried a few toppers and the last time was with PBL Surface Coating. Helped but still not that slick feeling like the paint.

Had a suggestion after watching Chicago Auto Pros video on a full PPF with coating a nice GT500 Mustang. They used Gtechniq HALO so I found that and had time try it this weekend.

Halo shows to be nice and clear, as it cured it was slick with a slight grab to the touch.

Waterless washed both rides using Meguiar’s Ultimate Wash & Wax as they were both pollen dusty. In between the two washings the neighbor called me with an automotive detailing SOS. His wife had picked up tar spray front to back top to bottom due to road construction. I brought over Stoners Tarminator and after a quick wash we got to cleaning the tar off, with each taking one side of the vehicle. Each panel was then soaked with Griots Surface prep wash to help remove residual chemical then washed and rinsed. I hit each panel with a fine clay mitt, rinsed and applied Dr. Beasley’s Formula 1201 Paint Coating. Took us an hour or so but we were both pleased with the outcome.

BTW, as windy as it was we were not concerned with possibly transmitting the CCP flu.

Oh no!!! That would be my worst nightmare!!!

Crazy huh? That happened in Tustin Ca, about 5 miles away from Meguiars in Irvine. I’m very familiar with that stretch of freeway.

I wonder what caused it. I bet the car checked out fine before they drove it.

Washed my wife’s car.
Foamed, scrubbed tires/cleaned wheels while it dwelled. Rinsed, then foamed again and 2bm washed.
