What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I'm working on tuning this Ford Escape that was once a dumpster fire into a white crystal WITH BLACKFIRE ONE STEP!

RW yesterday with a few new products. Tuf Shine tire brush - the bristles are shorter/stiffer then the Mother's brush I had. Also TRC Gauntlet. I like both. Today I noticed a bulge in one of my sidewalls. Didn't notice it when applying tire dressing but with the glossy tire, it's very noticeable. So I'll be buying tires tomorrow.

Thanks for not driving it like that.
Now if that bulge was on the inside you'd probably never know until ....
I'd suggest a better quality tire also.
Sorry but I'm a stickler when it comes to rubber.

Atleast you noticed it and put on the spare! I see people drive around with that and they probably have no idea what that is and how dangerous it is

Had some CQuartz lite that I wasn’t going to be able to use. A friend of a friend had a fairly new to her 2017 Black Toyota RAV4. Brilliant Finish rinseless, pinnacle fine clay, Mezerna SF4000 on a variety of fine pads, and an Eraser wipe down led to a applying the coating. We topped it off with reload since she doesn’t park in a garage. It was an overcast day so really easy to see high spots.

Also got an opportunity to try my new Rupes Nano on some small areas and curves. It worked really well. I had to use the blue pad and compound on an area of transfer from a lot ding but predominantly used yellow & yellow. Only thing that was less than ideal were the bottles. Got too much product every time and closing the bottle popped out even more stuff.

She was very happy and I got rid of some more of the CQuartz. Still have a bit more - d’oh.

The Elantra looks so nice, that blue is bad ass. How many layers of protection are on that bad boy? I admire the persistence.

Paul, the rams paint looks exactly how that color should. I really like that truck.

Bummer about the tire! I’m amazed to see the spare already on it. Folks in SE MI would keep driving on it.

Well many for sure and I know I'm getting dismissing returns but then again I've got alot of products. I almost use "something" as a drying aid or when it's dusty a foam/dwell/rinse and always do a full wheel cleaning, well 95% of the time anyways. A year ago I did a full detail w/ light paint correction and applied TAC system ceramic paint coating to the ES and I'm sure it's down there somewhere

I have the time to stay ontop of my car as I have no life half the time (other half I have my daughter) so it keeps my mind and body occupied doing something.

Thanks for capturing what my lame-ass iPhone could not, Roger! ;)
I'm sure your iPhone has an "auto" setting, my Droid has it That said it surely looks more like how I posted it though huh

I would do the same. I’m sure your daughter likes the clean vehicle. My daughter gets on me when my Jeep is muddy. She likes shiny vehicles :). I have quite awhile, but when she’s able to drive she is going to have the cleanest ride in the student lot.

Yeah, but unless has spark plugs, I am blissfully indifferent to the workings of the damn thing......... ;)
No wonder we get along Paul, you sound like a brother from another Mother...but I encourage you to explore your phone a tad. The last time I checked, a "tad" in space terms is about 100 million miles

I have a Sony Android phone, but I also process in the Photoshop ap, so the image matches what my eyes see. Cameras just can't process as well as the human eye. The main corrections I use are Dehaze, Clarity, and Shadow adjustment.

I don't know what you just said, but you sure make it sound good............ :)

Sorry but I'm a stickler when it comes to rubber.

That's a good/scary point. Good excuse for a wheel off wheel/tire detail. I'm still on the factory rubber and wasn't planning on putting the same thing back on.

I've seen a blowout on a car that was 2 lanes to the right of me. The tread of the tire kept rolling and drifted over toward my car.

The right tires can transform a car’s handling not to mention making it safer in the rain and when braking. The most recent tires I bought for my sedan were the Conti DWS-06 all-season performance tires and they are great, including not being loud.

The tires make or break the way the car drives/handles IMO.
OEM tires get you off the lot in my book. I've never run them more than 25,000 miles.
I just put these on my daughter's 2019 Camry.
Great tire.

I just snagged a bottle of Meg's Ultimate Waterless Wash, after having gone through a bottle of Griot's Spray-On Car Wash. Smells amazing, seems to perform well. I'm only using these WW's for cleaning up tire dressing sling and random little touch ups; I can't bring myself to actually "wash" a whole car with them.
