What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I have way too many flavours to choose from, I really need to start finishing some of them off.

Have you ever thought of mixing like 4 or 5 together and see if the paint bursts into flames......:xyxthumbs::D

Or maybe the paint would just melt and run off the car, make a silver puddle on the driveway. Still, I'd get to pick a new colour then. I've never had a green car before.

......water spot removal from spoiler. Fingers crossed I can get them out. These are really only on the spoiler. Maybe a little bit on the shark fin antenna and the black piece that goes around it, but nowhere near as bad as the spoiler. The next question is if i get them out, do i put a coat of SiC on it or diy PPF? To be continued.....

Gave the FJ a wash, decided to throw some old products into the mix. Interesting weather for it, warm with low humidity and gusty winds. So I had to hose it outside, drive it inside, wash a side, drive it back out, hose it, then back in for the next bit, and so on. It was drying way too fast.

Wheels cleaned with NV Purge, then sealed with 303 Touchless while they were still wet.

2B wash with Mother's California Gold, I used to love this stuff, and it's still ok, but I much prefer Reset.

After drying it I coated it with NV Lustre, feels super slippery.

When I brought the Qashqai back in, I noticed there had been a fly by pooping. It had Lustre applied yesterday, so the poop removed real easy with NV Boost. Also, one of the tyres is now a grey wall, luckily I put wider tyres on last time, so only the tyre got touched.

I'll clean the old man's Rtv ute tyres only for him to rub the curb and i will say
Can't even keep em clean or fresh for a day or two!

His response... only a car :bash:

Water spots gone.

Megs UC and microfiber pad. I had to go over it 2x to get it all, but she's back to shining.

Finished with orange pad and UP.

I still had about 3/4 of a 10ml bottle of Cquartz SiC, so I put a layer on it. Car is garaged all winter, so i dont really need to worry about those water spots for a few months.
I'll probably look at PPF in the spring.

Repost my before picture.

I ran the EN through the touch-free wash this morning, treated the rims and exhaust tips w/ CG's Diablo beforehand. Afterwards I drove it home, had some lunch and got outside and applied some Adam's Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating on it. It's sunny and 62 so I've gotta take advantage of it

I am always curious about how far you live from your favorite tunnel wash since you frequently wash her and then drive home to finish her up, so to speak

Not judging, just curious

He chose the tunnel wash because they had an apartment over the top he could rent. So when he gets home, he runs through the wash, and then parks. He has his priorities in order.:bolt:

I am going to test run a new to me tunnel wash today

If it’s decent I’ll start a monthly wash deal

$54 a month for the top of the line wash and you can go every day if you want

I don’t like that damn tricolor foam business but the top wash has the undercarriage blast, wheel blast, extra soap and rinse and stuff

Fingers crossed

The wash I used to use has become hit or miss on how much soap it applies and it doesn’t get the area of the rear hatch under the top rear “wing” clean

No pictures because it wouldn’t be terribly exciting. Used GTECHNIQ on the Maverick dash - TriClean followed by Matte Dash.

First post Covid 2 bucket wash this afternoon. Washed the Fusion with Hyper Wash and then sprayed her down with Griots Ceramic Speedshine. I'll tackle the rest tomorrow.

If I'm coming from work it's less than a mile but if I leave from home it's about 3.5 miles. I usually associate a "tunnel wash" with spinning brushes, this one isn't that. It's basically the best touch-free wash...strong underbody wash upon entry, no rails to get your tires between, strong rinse and you drive under the dryer which has a timer

This subscription is all because of the EN being outside 24/7 and that damn pine tree spraying/leaking sap but now I'm looking at like this, my new car will be maintained during the winter, even plan on bringing my IK Foam Pro 12 with me during the winter monthes for a stronger pre-wash, I'm winning this battle

Mine has that tri-color foam stuff, do you know something about it that bad Btw if I win the 825 million tonight I'll have a wash just like but using Bilt-Hamber and Griot's Garage products, plus 50' of drying so there's no water left

First off, a sincere thank you to all that contribute to AutogeekOnline. I’ve learned so much in less than a year of mostly lurking (and practicing on other, much less desperate cars), from how I used to do things by hand 20 years ago.

This is my Mom’s 2004 Mazda 6, that mostly sat in the Florida and then the Atlanta sun for the past four years. The before pic is from Feb 2021 when I parked in my driveway, where it sat untouched with the exception of being hosed off a few times a week until two weekends ago.

I used a combination of items I already had and what seems like half of Griot’s catalog for inside and out, plus some Chemical Guys and Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions. I am quite pleased with how it came out. Like most 18-year-olds, it still has its issues and isn’t perfect, but presentable to sell. The new floor mats should be here early this week.

I was on the road last week so that meant rinseless washes. I found the outside water source at both hotels.

The goal is to have a windshield that looks like it’s not even there. The Griots Crinkle glass towel took care of that.
