What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

While they look easy, Dodge truck wheels are some of the hardest to mantain.
If you don't clean them regularly, brake dust will not be able to be removed by simple cleaning
Nice job

Thanks and yea you’re spot on in describing these wheels. Surprising how much brake dust accumulates on these wheels compared my car which creates almost none.

I have cleaned my share of neglected dodge truck wheels.
Really eats up tye clock and the owners rarely know about the extra time that it took
A thankless job you might say 😁

has anyone used or heard of system x ceramic coatings?
Yeah. They're another company like Ceramic Pro.
Prices are insane IMO. Places that use System X come with a warranty but require you to come back annually for their yearly maintenance wash and topcoat which, in my area, is $200-$400. If you skip one year, your warranty is null and void. When I started coating about 2.5 years ago they priced my vehicle at $1600 for a 3 year coating. Within 6 months that price jumped to $1800.

First type of a "wash" in a month. Ik multi pro with a unknown dilution ratio of some left over primus 2.0 and then decided to add an unmeasured amount bh touchless for the first time in atleast 2 years.

Sprayed paint, pw off at coin op spray bay and called it done.

Well, after being in and out of the snow and salt for two days, I've accumulated quite the salt on my trucks rubber floor (or whatever this rubber like floor is) and I tried cleaning it with 2 rounds of Chemical Guys APC and a MF towel, but to no avail. It disappears when I scrub it but when it dries it comes back. Any ideas?

Try this specific Mothers Tire Cleaner, it’s unlike other tire & rubber cleaners.

That's a great suggestion, Eldo. My suspicion about this "reappearing salt" is it's that mag chloride brine they have been spraying, or whatever...we get stains here from whatever the deicing stuff is that the rain won't wash off the pavement, seems like it's still there in May.

Eldo--you having a barbeque? Or are you not in the fire zone?

The fire is about 25 miles down the coast. I do know someone who’s house more than likely has burned down. I Googled his address and it’s right next to the high school that ABC news just said has burned to the ground. Like literally across the street.
I can smell the fire.

Ok, stay out of the way. We are also having crazy wind here, the last couple of days, and supposed to have it for the next couple too.

I just tried to check the address again in apple map and it says “directions not available at this time due to current road conditions” Damn.

It's clean.
That's a permanent stain you are looking at. You could water down a water based dressing and make it look new.
The only problem with this is that it makes the floorboard semi-slick
Imo it's not worth the risk

How close are you to that?

I’m 28 miles away.

The smell of smoke & ash got so bad last night that I had to go out to my car to retrieve a covid mask and wore it to sleep. I normally always have a window open but had to close it. Everything was caked in ash dust this morning. I used the blower to sweep the backyard and the layer of dust was back in short time.

My brother took this picture from Koreatown, which is 17 miles away from Pacific Palisades and you can see the huge cloud of smoke from that far away.
