The center tailight has a button you can push to pop the trunk open and it mysteriously developed a crack in it, thus allowing water/condensation inside of it and eventually made the led beam start to go bad on one side. I'm not really sure how it happened, dealership said it wasn't a defect, so the insurance took care of itWhat was the issue with your hatch?
A bit of prep and some side-by-side evaluation to see what post-wash ‘frosting’ I’ll be using this Summer. Cosmic 2.0 came out last Fall, used it a bit & Overcoat 6.0 dropped this Winter so not too much time with it since weather broke.
May as well do 1/2 the hood with each and watch it from behind the wheel as it exists in the world for the next month or two.
Decon, polish, a base of ‘ceramic-lite’ and then on to the two contenders.

I'm staying out of this.I'll help you out here. You are not the only one.
Well this didn’t quite go as planned
After prepping, polishing, applying I stupidly left the hood propped open (unlatched) overnite & neglected to mention it. Wife was up early the next day, hopped in car to go to church, made it about 1/4 mile before hood flew up on road. Now needs new hood, 2 new fenders, paint/blending, new hinges & related trim pieces.
*sigh*

I'm presuming in your case the safety (secondary) latch was still latched. Budget said he had the hood "propped open" which sounded to me like the safety latch wasn't engaged.Wow! That’s crazy, I’ve driven my own car with the hood unlatched several times due to forgetting to fully close it, for long distances too and it’s never come close to opening. I guess every car is different.
Ouch. I guess that one is on you.
That would just irritate me to no end.
Yikes, glad everyone is OK but I'm guessing this made Easter brunch a bit awkward. I can't imagine the surprise for her!

Exactly. “Was gonna…” use the small prop bar I have which would have kept it latched but just left it resting on polish bottle instead.I'm presuming in your case the safety (secondary) latch was still latched. The windshield washer tube/hose caught on the rear hood bumper keeping hood from flying all the way back into windshield…small blessings.A friend of mine did that when he was doing an oil change. He ended up needing a new windshield.

No, when you pull the release in the car, you're releasing the primary latch, and the spring pushes it up an inch or two so you can reach in and release the secondary latch.1st time I’ve heard of a secondary latch, but yes it certainly feels like there’s some form of latch holding it in place before the actual latch that opens when you pull the lever inside the car.

I think you've got too much Yvan stress this morning. That’s how I described it, no?
The actual latch is what’s released when you pull the thing inside the car.

Been scrubbing since noon. I'm tired lol. Didn't take any photos of the GLI getting it. Foam for all was Sonax Actifoam Energy.![]()

Yea I love these base wheels over the track pack ones. The fact these are rarer for the 2014 model years makes em even better.I know I said it already but really liking those base wheels, I mean the optional wheels, I believe are BBS', are awesome but alot harder to clean
