I’ve been trying to acquire a set of spare tires for my car without having to pay full price, and a couple of weeks ago I found someone selling 2 of them for $100 bucks each so I jumped on the offer. So now I’ve got 3 spare tires in like new condition for $200 bucks. Just need one more.

Went to the grocery store to buy food for a food drive at a local brewery. I was putting the bags in my trunk and saw some woman back up her truck right into someone's SUV. She got out, took a quick look and then got back into her car and sped off. I snagged a picture of her truck as she left. Damage wasn't terrible but I know how I am about my car. The SUV had a magnet on the side with a phone number so I called the owner to let him know and sent him the picture. He called me later and said he was going to file a police report and press charges.

Cowardly, especially given today's super high deductibles on insurance

Plus the vehicle is NEVER the same
 
I thought I posted this earlier about Chilly's aurora pictures, but apparently I didn't hit the go button.

Chilly, I think if I looked up in the sky and saw that I would think it's the end of the world.

I am very particular about which parking spot I select when I go anywhere. Even in my 11 year old Tacoma. My Tacoma has one door ding that was done while in the parking lot where I worked and done by some slob whose idea of maintenance on a vehicle is putting gasoline in it when it won't go any further. I have been known to lose it over parking lot dings.

My first choice when parking is an end spot where I will park as far away as possible from the adjoining parking spot. Second choice is several rows further away from all the parked up rows and no other vehicles near mine.

I've watched people drive up and down those crowded rows looking for a spot and I've parked several rows away and I am walking into the store and they are still searching for a prime spot

I used to work with a guy who waxed his car EVERY WEEK (I always thought I would run into him on one of these forums, but I recently found out he passed away). He had a new Firebird at that time, and when we went outside at break time, someone had door-dinged his car; he literally kicked in the door of the offending car.

When I was a 17 year old kid I had a 67 Camaro. It was a nice car, 327/ 4 speed/ black paint / white interior.
I was sitting in my car at a local department store. A car pulls in on my driver's side and parks. The woman on the passenger
Side opens her door with some force and hits my Camaro pretty hard.

I roll down my window and start bitching about her hitting my car with her door. She says " shut up you little baby".
Well when they went into the store I started up my Camaro and got it perpendicular to the passenger side of the offending vehicle. I then proceeded to smash my bumper, which on a 67 Camaro comes to a sharp point, into the other vehicle three times. I then left.

Afterwards did I feel bad about what I did? Absolutely not. Did the other people deserve what they got? Absolutely. This is not the only time I have responded to incredibly ignorant people. Have I matured beyond the point of retribution? I hope so but would still freak out due to others extreme ignorance.

It can be pretty mesmerizing to watch and I can only imagine what someone thought 25,000 years ago when they watched it from a world completely free of light pollution

I remember once when we lived out in the bush we were deep winter hunting on snowmobiles and it was either really early or really late but whichever it was, the Aurora came out and was entirely blood red and went from horizon to horizon

We shut down the machines so it was pitch black and quiet other than the ticking noises as the machines were cooling and to this day I swear we could hear a static or electric "sound" as the Aurora danced back and forth

That was well before phone cameras unfortunately

I have been known use my hip or shoulder to fold mirrors in on cars on parked to close to mine, no damage done, but they usually don't notice till they're already sitting in the car.
 
Chilly, those pictures are amazing. I hope to see them from Alaska some day.

My wife’s aunt and uncle bought a house there a couple of years ago and decided they were just going to live there full time. It’s been a year and a half. I cannot wait to visit. I’m afraid I won’t want to leave.
