What did you do today non-detailing related?

Something tells me we might be seeing a new detail write up from you on a new car sometime in the near future then!

Lol. I can’t get too excited because it could be gone like a hotcake unless I really decide to make a move for it. But yea I’m about to check my horoscope just to see what it says.. You know things could get interesting when I check the horoscope. Lol

When my pops got out the army and started at Boeing in 85 he more than doubled his income so went out and got a brand new 85 Seville and that’s when I got into cars. All the neighbors seen us come home and was either lovin’ us or hatin us.

Ha that’s very cool, the best my parents did back in the days was buy a used Dodge van from the Dodge dealership. It wasn’t anything plush but that van put in alot of work throughout the years and took the family to and from many vacations down to Mexico.

Man that CD is stuck in the CD changer in my glove compartment right now. It’s been in there for over a month and I haven’t gotten it out.

It’s lawn work season practically year round here. I have a battery powered trimmer/weed eater that works very well just a pain to wind and install a spool of string in it.

No DIY on that, Allen??

i bought it at this specific place a few years ago and this is the first time it ever needed anything done to it. since they are the experts, i'll let them fiddle with it. they didn't charge very much anyway, and they even filled the gas up (mixed with oil) because i brought it nearly empty LOL...

Everyone who sees the car and finds out how much I paid is blown away. Lol.

Love the car. Very clean. Northstar motor? Get the heads done with Head-studs. Big ones. Northstar Performance has a great set they sell. Nearly 3x the size with much heavier threads than the stock ones. Not an easy job given the motor needs to drop out completely. That's the main reason these sell so cheap as the repair is a $3-5k job depending on where you go.

Yup, correct on everything you said. I’ve definitely thought about getting the head bolts studded. From what I’ve gathered everyone pretty much says to wait until the head gasket fails to do it, but I’d almost be willing to get it taken care of before it happens. [I guess I’m weird like that]
I know someone online who’s had it done by a highly reputable shop for around $2,500 total price, unfortunately they’re in Pennsylvania. Lol.

IMO $2,500 bucks ain’t bad for what turns into a “bulletproof” engine. Some people spend that on 3-4 months worth of car payments.

You’re capable of doing this kind of job? Man I’d get a kick out of just watching. Lol.
It’s funny you mention this, because earlier today I was watching this video.

I disagree with his statement regarding the head gaskets being subject to failing again in about 5-6yrs... Where the heck did he hear that nonsense? I’ve never heard of a studded Northstar with stripped headbolts or head gasket failure.

I also don’t think it’s a bad engine design.. IMO mechanics who dread working on Northstars are just lazy or just flat out lousy mechanics. Lol.

How in the heck does anyone manage to do this to the leather seats of a Cadillac?

And what in the heck part of the car is this?? Oh and they’ve got some nerve asking $2,500 dollars for this heap!

Seriously, how on earth is this possible?! I don’t think the Devil himself could do this to leather seats if this was his daily driver all summer long without AC!
I’d pay to see a time lapse of how this occurs. And who lets an actual pig chauffeur their Cadillac?! Lol.
