What is your favorite car wash?

I don't know, I still shamelessly use the glug glug method. :D

I'd say about 2 ounces to 3 gallons of water. I should measure it out, but my lazy side always gets the better of me.

Shane I am with ya ....real men dont measure and they dont ask for directions. :props:

(every road leads somewhere, and too much of anylike likely just makes it better) :dblthumb2:

I tried to go to the Majestic website and it shows their domain license has expired. Anyone know if they are still in business?

Their site works fine for me.

I'm not sure if I have found a favorite yet. It depends on what I'm trying to do.

For an inexpensive everyday wash, it's hard to beat Megs Gold Class when you can get it on super sale at Target or Wally Mart. I tried Megs Mirror Glaze #62 car wash years ago that was very nice but Gold Class was so good for the money that I didn't buy more.

I am just playing around with Optimum car wash, which has a nice scent and leaves the finish with a very clean reflective finish. I'm not sure if it has the cleaning power of some other washes, but it doesn't change the look of the wax on my cars and leaves one of the better reflective finishes. It did a very good job of removing brake dust from my wife's bimmer rims so it should have good cleaning power overall. I will be giving this a longer term trial as I really like the finish.

I used OG Wash and Wax for years but I had to apply extra to the wash mitt to get the lubrication and suds that I wanted. The paint always looked good with a little wax added to extend the time between waxings.

I much prefer OG's new Blue 33 car wash to the OG Wash and Wax. It has reasonable lubricity, good cleaning power, doesn't strip wax and leaves a very nice reflective surface. I am actually looking for alternatives to this wash.

DG's 901 is a very cool car wash. It has great cleaning ability, good lubricity and leaves some type of coating on the paint and windows which looks pretty cool on some paint. Water seems to sheet off the paint with 901! 901 seems to change the look or finish of some waxes/sealant on certain colors. I sense an acrylic sealant look which has a little glow to it. When I used it on my wife's champagne beige car, I liked it a lot. When I used it on my arctic white bimmer that is waxed with Fuzion, I didn't like it as much. I have not tried it on reds, blacks, yellows, blues and greens but I would guess that it could look awesome with some colors and a corresponding sealant/wax. I don't really like them smell of cherry cough syrup. If is definately a car wash to try.

I have samples of Ultima and Sonax car washes that I will use over the coming weeks. I am really looking forward to trying the Ultima but it is supposed to rain today and tonight so why wash today? Bummer.

I have never tried the Pinnacle, Wolfgang, DP, P21 and a few other car washes as I thought them to be expensive compared to other options. I'll probably pick up one of the AG family brands as a sample with a coming order based on some of your comments.

I use CG Citruswash and Gloss for stripping wax from my vehicles rather than Dawn. I probably spend more money than necessary but it smells good, seems to strip well and has very good lubricity. The paint is left squeeky clean and glossy. At 1 oz per gallon of water, I can make 128 gallons of stripping wash for under $20. A word of caution, you want to measure this carefully if you use it for everyday use. It cleans really well, so it might be a good idea to use a spray wax or apply a fresh coat of wax more often or after every wash. It is not and probably will never be my everyday car wash.

Where would I be without mentioning ONR. I use it for rinseless washes, as a clay lube and as a prewash treatment (clay lube dilution) for my rims and lower quarter panels when I'm washing the car. It really makes my rims sparkle and I don't normally need to use a wheel cleaner. As an aside, I use a wheel sealant on the rims and recently starting using OPC on the tire's rubber. I prefer OIDE as a QD.

I have samples of both OOC and UWW+ as waterless washes that I will also be trying soon.

That sure makes it sound like its changing something???

Working for me now. Could not get on there the other night and I got a message that showed their domain name had expired. Go figure.

Thanks.

I like Duragloss Car Wash Concentrate, DP, Pinnacle, and Majestic Solutions Ultra Gloss

Good point Dwayne. Let me explain. Fuzion by itself is very clear and reflective. OCCW also leaves a clear and reflective finish in line with Fuzion, OCW and DGPS which are the three main LSPs that I am using on my cars today.

I don't get the sense of a coating with OCCW as I do with 901. I sense a golden tone with 901. I don't mean it in a bad way, but I try to be descriptive of what I see.

I use "sense" instead of see because I'm not sure if I am adequately describing what I see. I "feel" like I see a thickness or coating when using 901. There is a very definate sheeting of water when I rinse down the windows as I wash from top to bottom of the car. It's like a shield has been applied to the windows and I sense a multitude of colors like a prism as I first apply a water spray to the suds on the window. It's really cool.

If the weather was better, I was going to make up 901 and OCCW and wash windows next to each other today to see if I could reproduce it and capture it on video. I'm leaving on a business trip next weekend so I probably won't be able to try it for a couple of weeks.

When I tried 901 on my wife's car the first time, I thought wow and went out and bought more. I then tried it on my white car and the car just looked different. A week later I used ONR and this week I tried the OCCW. With OCCW, the finish looks normal (to me) again.

It could also be that my eyes are going and I can't see straight anymore. Thanks for asking.

The polymers in DG 901 are what's coating your car. Call Jerry @ Duragloss and he will give you more info.

Thanks Richard.

I knew it was some type of polymer that was binding to the surfaces, but I didn't know which kind. It really doesn't matter too much. It really only matters that you like it.

Ok, honestly call Jerry. He is a super nice fellow and will answer any question you have. :dblthumb2:

I still like Meg's Gold Class - I buy the Gallons at the warehouse clubs for $9.95 (Costco, BJ's and Sam's) have all had it over the last few years.

It prices out at about 7 cents an ounce and suds with the best of them. It's PH balance is almost perfection in all situations. It works great by hand in a bucket and also is awsome for Foam Guns. I once kept Track of how many washes I got out of a gallon and I was just shy of 100 at 97. So at 10 cents a wash for a high Quality Premium product it is the hands down winner in my book !

LOL Richard we REALLY need to talk.

Its also wayyy cheaper though, gallons can be found for 10 dollars or less. Gold class is so good for the money. :xyxthumbs:

Meg's GC 48oz found today at WM on clearance for $4!

Read good things about dodo born 2 be mild, id like to try it. It's supposed to leave no residue behind, good lubricity, very LSP friendly, and not change the look of the LSP.

Hey Mark, are you ready to trade off that Pinn soap yet?
