Whats the go-to wash mitt now days?

Thats not the case per-se. But there is value in shopping for a better product that isnt marketing. Im after the product that isnt marketed thus possibly increasing cost.

Those noodle mitts that I got at the 99 cent store are very serviceable. The only reason I don’t use them on anything other than dirty jobs is because I hate the noodle style mitt, it just doesn’t feel good going across the paint no matter what the cost. But for a buck they’re a total steal.

I certainly can't argue with a fresh and clean wash media everytime you reach in the bucket with those wash mitts, but how's the quality compared to a 500 GSM Eagle edgeless microfiber towel, 5 of them is what I need to wash my car

Value? We're talking a few dollars difference right? $10-$15 for a branded mitt is HARDLY a hit on the wallet. Your talking to a cheap mo-fo here.

I’d say washing with these mitts is far superior than eagle edgeless towels. These mitts can’t be that much different than the originals.

These mitts are way better than any towels for washing.
Well correct me if my thinking is flawed but if you are using multiple mitts, similar to the Gary Dean method, as opposed to multiple microfiber towels i would think the difference would be negligible as far as the quality of the wash. Good 365 or 500 gsm towels in the 70/30 blend do a pretty good wash with the multiple method.

The mitts are much more bulky not to mention costly, more to launder, etc.

I also assume you are referring to rinseless washing?
For me there is a limit on how dirty a vehicle can be and still do a rinseless wash.

Detail Popo is a company under the radar. Really quality products that are as good as Gyeon and other names, but cheaper. They have some wash mitt and pad options.
I like their Fuzzies wash pad/block...

I don’t really rinseless wash. I either do waterless or foam cannon/bucket wash.

When I waterless wash I use towels.

The thing that makes these mitts extraordinary is how much soapy water they hang onto so if you really wanted to you could just about wash the entire side of a sedan with 1 mitt, that’s how much water they’re able to carry. Imagine them like soapy wash pads.

When using mf towels as the wash media and you make a pass, you can actually SEE the dirt line, so you can roll that part away and make 1 or 2 more passes on that square...how does the process work with those mitts

With the mitts you’re bearly gliding across the surface + there’s so much soapy water between your hand, the mitt, and the surface and that’s what makes the process safe. These type of mitts are very smooth, that’s why Gyeons version is called the “Smoothie”

I like their stuff a lot but is there anywhere to buy it beyond carzilla? I like both Detail Popo and Bola but only if I'm getting other stuff or it's on free shipping.

I am not sure, I heard about them, and bought through Carzilla. Not sure who their US distributor is? Carzilla carries Bola as well, so with a decent order shipping is free.

I just bought a Korean made wash mitt without the Rag company logo
Same blend everything for $20 + $10 postage.

In Australia.

I'm not really a wash mitt type of guy, I find them cumbersome and much prefer a wash pad. I've tried cheap/generic, Carpro, TRC and Microfiber Madness.

Generic - Of the ones I've used, I found the inner foam they use tends to be too stiff, so the pad doesn't have any conformity, or what I call "the flop".

Microfiber Madness - I have the DeliPad, but like above, I find the inner foam is too stiff. The IncrediPad has nice thickness to it and pleasing plushness. However, both are grossly over-priced.

DeliPad -

IncrediPad bottom , TRC Ultra top -

TRC - I have both Cyclone and Cyclone Ultra in standard and 10X size. For larger vehicles, I like the 10X because it has "the flop" I'm looking for. However, some may find it holds too much water and becomes quite heavy. In which case, the standard size Cyclone Ultra is probably the one I'd recommend most.

Carpro - I used their single sided mitt for years, and overall, its very nice. However, the single side part is a limiting factor. I recently tried the Dab Dab after it was strongly suggested I try it...................................well, its my favorite at the moment. This combines the wash mitt and pad into one, the wrist strap being more ergonomic for me than having your hand plunged inside a mitt.
