what's the last car care/detailing video you've just watched?

I saw part of a DIY detail where the two were washing a car. They did not use the top down method and jumped around the foamed vehicle. Since they used to FRF method no bucket was really used.

Here is the fraud himself. He's so condescending. He has some kind of hard on about 3PH systems....must be hurting sales.

Near the end he is self-projecting.

This is the same guy who said using carwash soap was "so 20th century", talking up RW Obviously I love RW but at some point you've gotta pre-wash and 2BM, PERIOD

I don't normally watch this dudes videos, but is it just me, or did he contradict himself a few times, like he had no script or notes, just a stream of thought that meandered this way and that.

So there's no wrong way to detail, well I'm going to go out with my broom and some dishwashing liquid and have some fun, but I better make sure I'm getting paid for it.

I gave up part way through, just 23-minutes of a guy talking in circles.

Mindless drivel about people who criticize other people. Tells the viewer to go and have fun detailing however they chose, but don't do anything that might be considered a fad, even though someone might have fun doing it. And don't waste your time, even if it makes you happy to spend 20 hours polishing your paint. Oh, and we should be grateful for a bunch of people who are called content creators providing information for us to enjoy........................... you know, as if they are all doing us a favor, even though they are earning a living to make that content or by flogging a bunch of white labelled products with stupid/incomprehensible names, as in it's their job. Then tells the viewer that trying every product is a waste of time....................................moments later telling the viewer to go and buy THOR's latest detail spray.

I saw the video and watched a couple minutes (watch later) but seemed to go against the mindset DIY Detail marketing videos.

He's surely seen our Pan thread and to him it's surely "toxic" but in reality it a bunch of people stating the truth and I guess for some people that's a problem

I saw Ivan at The Bays Wheeling monthes ago, not sure who the girl was thar was with him, but didn't really wanna interact with him. I didn't like him at first, then when his DIY Detail products came out I tried them and liked them, several products I'm on my 2nd or 3rd bottles of and now I feel dirty again, maybe ADS can make their version of Clean and Protect & Interior Ceramic and I can move my business further into ADS

That's it, I'm sending Bradley an email

I have to remind myself that most of you do this for fun/therapy
I'm always looking at this from a business standpoint
Note taken 😉

So you've got a business and he mentioned business owners in the video, what do you think about what he's said? Have you watched his business videos and if so what's your take on him in that capacity

I lump this guy in the same category as Mike Phillips.
Why would I take business advice from someone who couldn't make it work themselves?
No, I didn't watch the video and won't be. Nothing to see there.
Junkman is much more entertaining and a better teacher

Flash, as I understand it, Yvan had a successful detail shop in Montreal, successful enough that he opened a second location. He ran those for a long time, 10-15-20 years? He was a big Optimum user, and he started teaching classes on "Optimum Synergy" at OPT, and was doing the Optimum Synergy podcast, and got more involved with product development and marketing there at Optimum, particularly when Dr. G was sick.

So somewhere there in his Optimum tour, he sold his shops, sold his residence in Canada and started living in a motor home, then got (unexpectedly?) separated from OPT and started his meandering way to DIY. I might have the timing of the motor home part mixed up.

I have a love/hate relationship with his content. I appreciate how he's tried to make detailing more palatable to the average joe but it's the double speak that bothers me.

For years he ranted and raved about why soap is old technology and professionals need to use a RW to be more efficient but if that's the case why do they use Incredible Suds so much and their rinseless so little. For instance, about a week ago they had a hammered off road Range Rover. There was no way in the world they could have made a dent in that filth with a rinseless and if you're a professional, people aren't bringing you well maintained vehicles. These are vehicles that haven't seen soap in years. You're gonna need soap and you're gonna need something with some bite to it.

DIY has a 3pH system, they just don't call it that but they use it quite often. Let's take the Range Rover from last week. Instead of starting with something like Touch-Less they started with All Clean (high ph) and then went in for a contact wash with Suds (neutral). After the contact wash they liberally applied water spot remover (acidic). What they did is no different than what I do when I have a severely neglected vehicle; Touch-Less, Descale and Reset. A rose by any other name is still a rose.

I only watched the first few minutes, but I think that's what he was trying to say, is that 3pH is marketing buzz, that the technique itself has been around a long time (see Valugard ABC System). I'm not defending him, I think his journey from Optimum Fan Boi to pimping I don't know how many products on his way to DIY was rather disingenuous. And I think Labo's 3pH is probably a lot safer to use than ABC or the similar FK Decon system (RIP FK)...of course that could just be marketing hype from the Danish Yvan (Reggy).

I'm just a backyard detailer/enthusiast but in due time I'll see what the Labocosmetica 3pH system is like, well actually the 2pH inparticular because I just got them and haven't used them let, have about 1/4 bottle of Labocosmetica Idrosave left. As far as that goes I pre-mixed a bottle of each @10:1 ratio, waiting for duty, although ACIDIC will be last to be used, even at that ratio.
