what's the last car care/detailing video you've just watched?

A lot to unpack here... But apparently THOR/DIY/PAN/QUIVR are all owned by the same person(s)?

I started watching the video but then got sidetracked. I work for a company that recently got bought by a priveate investment firm Roark Capital. Roark owns mulitple franchises like Baskin-Robbins, Arby's, Jamba, Buffalo Wild Wings, Dunkin’ ... you get the idea. I don't necessarily care whether they are getting their "ingredients" from the same supplier(s), but I do care how their products taste.

The same goes for the detailing products I use. I care more that a product does what it's supposed to do, than I do about who blended it for them. I have always assumed that most "companies" selling detailing chemicals don't have or can't afford the facilities to acquire, store and blend chemicals. If they don't, then someone has to be doing it for them. And there is where I start to fall down the rabbit hole.

If the same parent company owns four detailing companies or a blender is making say a new instant ceramic detailer for 4 different "labels," what is the difference between the four? Color, scent, did they change one of the chemicals by 1 or 2%? Does that really make the new detailer a world beater? Are they sharing the exact same formula between brands? I'm skeptical. Then there's the YT influencer who comes out with his own line. What qualifies him to put out a good product? Is he a chemist, in the detailing field or did he just walk into a blender, throw down some cash and say "make me an instant ceramic detailer that smells good? I need to stop, too much caffine...

I stopped watching all those guys myself. So contrived the vast majority of it. I don't watch so many detailing videos actually...go riddance lol

Are the brothers from BIO Bombs?

I think some of the people involved had/have good intentions. Definitely not the 2 French Canadian guys. Which are not like the French from France in the least. They even speak differently.

They carry the BIO Bombs but unsure how into the mix those two are. The one suddenly getting really involved with them is the British guy from YumCars. The THOR cult bought in hard as well and hyped everything accordingly so now the brand seems locked into THOR.

I don't blame the owners wanting to jump into the US market and grab some more money but I wouldn't want to lock my brand into only that drama.

Painful with Eddie bobbing around like that.

Ditto

I’ve tried a few times to get through one of his videos and I simply can’t

2-3 minutes in and I’m about to have a seizure from his camera antics

Doesn’t matter what kind of chops he has as a detailer, in my world he is unwatchable

I did download the documents. They appear to show there is a common president of several brand LLCs as registered in Nebraska.

If you looked at the THOR website, they are now getting in the blending business (at least a middleman) and using THOR platform to market with the powered by THOR marketing initiative.
