what's your weather currently like?

The storm has moved on. The blackout remains, no hot water, so I had to give myself a rinseless wash. :ROFLMAO:
Our power is still out, this is the cause. We might get it back by 7pm, so another 8 hours. There's trees and branches down everywhere, lots of buildings couldn't deal with the rain , so they have flooding from the roof. I saw a caravan that was blown down the road almost into the farmland. But we're OK, no water damage, we only have one little tree out the front, and that is fine, 2 doors up their tree got blown over, across their driveway, so they're kind of stuck.PSX_20250116_104231.jpg

A few more pics of the damage from last night. Also, still no power.

And this caravan

Was parked at the top of this hill

And there's at least 2 people missing trampolines, this is one, nobody knows where the other one went.

Right on. I drove a 20 model Cascadia until about 550k miles then they traded it in and now I have a 25 model KW. I like the turning and the storage of the Cascadia better, but the ride and seat of the kw is way better
My pap always called the brand "freightshakers".

And it's still true. Those things will beat you to death. Truckers have funny lingo. Cops are bears, scale houses are chicken coops, fuel tankers are tanker yankers.. flatbeds are skateboards, car haulers are parking lots.

Yeah "Freightshaker" is a good one

1.5 more days of warm followed by bitter cold for a few days.

Unfortunately, I'll be in northern MN for the weekend, even worse up there.
My daughter will be racing alpine skiing on Saturday and then the family has lift tickets for Sunday. Brrr.
Fingers crossed the battery in my Explorer is up to the -27F cold Monday morning since we have to check out by 10am.

Skiing in temps like that caused me to get a balaclava to make sure there wasn't any exposed skin.

I actually bought a balaclava a couple days ago. I usually ski with a hat and face mask and can fully cover my face once goggles are on, but since I'll be smart and wear a helmet, figured the balaclava would be better and easier to fit under the helmet.
NO EXPOSED SKIN is the broken record that we hear over and over, for good reason.

What's 'funny' is that this is almost exact same weather as last year for the same race. Might be bit warmer Saturday, but colder Sunday/Monday.
We were thinking it can't be as bad as last year, but wrong, same ole story.

Power came back on just after midnight, and this morning it's 15C/59f, it's meant to be summer. But I don't care, this is the temps I like.
I'd take 59F right now, although it's 39 today and mid January in Chicagoland I'll take it

Very depressing PA winter weather this year. Going subzero Monday and Tuesday. I have detailing withdraw! Anyway, made a long birthday weekend. Friday thru Monday. I can drink beer and eat cake.

4th day of rain, we've had about 4 inches of rain, but it's the winds that have caused the damage. We lost power for just over a day, but i just heard one street not far from here, and the whole next suburb, still don't have power. The flood plain next to us is starting to fill up again.
