Which wheel cleaner?

How do you like the CG? Ive been thinking for picking it up. Looking for something as an alternative to Megs WB and is PH neutral.
I really like it, but it's not acidic like WB, so it's not a strong. However, you can use Diablo on ANY wheel finish. I clean my wheels weekly. I use it a 3:1 and it does an excellent job! I really like how it's a GEL that sticks to the wheels. It also foams when agitated with a wheel brush. I'm sure it can handle anything that's not baked on! I use optimum power clean for really brutal wheels.

Is Meg's green APC good enough on the other wheels, or does it have to be APC+? 07 z-oh-6 would you suggest Chemicals Guys over Griot's? I'm going to try to have one of my friends order some stuff if I give him the money.

Use an APC like optimum power clean or Megs APC+ on dirtier wheels, and Griot's on your camaro. Plus, it's good to have an APC for other uses.

I use Chemical Guys Diablo wheel Gel on my z06 wheels which are cleaned every week, and optimum power clean on other cars that I detail.

I've been using Diablo for the past year as I wanted something that would be "safe" on my rims. Okay, I'm still looking for a better wheel cleaner for my BMW wheels. Diablo is definately not spray on and wash off, although a little aggitation normally loosens up most everything to wash off as long as I wash the rims weekly. If I can't wash my wife's BMW's rims every week or two, the Diablo just won't take everything off easily, even when using a wheel sealant. I end up having to use other things to get baked on "stuff" off the rims.

It also definately doesn't cut the black bloom and wheel dust from the tire rubber. I found that Opt Power Clean is much more effective on the rubber. P21 and Sonax will probably be the next one to try, even if the OP didn't want to spend that kind of money.

I am a big fan of the DP wheel cleaner, i just used it tonight!

Initially, I wasn't a huge fan of diablo, but I've grown to really like it. IME, it can clean some pretty dirty wheels with agitation. I like how it sticks to the wheel and foams when agitated. I've tried sonax and I don't like it. Never tried P21s but I expect it to be similar to diablo.

P21 looks more like Sonax in the videos that I've saw of it

I was never amazed with diablo. To me it had very little cleaning power and for the price, there are better wheel cleaners. If you like the gel characteristic of diablo give SCG grime destroyer cut 2:1 a try. It's a gel and foams up just like diablo but cleans better and is much cheaper.

I only use Diablo on my wheels. I drive the car daily and the wheels are cleaned weekly. I dilute it 3:1 and it works great! Out of curiosity, have you tried P21S Gel? Does it have better cleaning power than Diablo?

Diablo is ok. I think that I want to try P21s next. Sometimes you need to keep trying products to move back to something you thought might work better.

For my application, Diablo works perfect at 3:1. If I need something stronger, I have OPC. I'm sure P21S is great, but the fact you can't dilute it sways me away.

Good point about P21 dilution. I use Diablo at 1:6 not 1:3. Maybe I should try 1:3.

For the wheels, I've been using CG Sticky Wheel Gel (one gallon makes like 5 gallons of product). Never been disappointed yet.

Yes, I have p21s and it has a lot more cleaning power that diablo does. To me diablo just seemed like car soap in a bottle in that it performed exactly the same. :dunno: For CG products, sticky wheel gel is better (cleaning ability and cost.) But then again, I dont really care about the cost of the product if it actually work.

This is how I feel. By the way, check your post count

What dilution ratio did you use with diablo?

Haha. I mean I still look for sales. DI has a 20% and flat rate $5 shipping under $150 and free over. That makes their P21s gel $80 shipped. Im actually scooping up another one because mines is running low.

I used it at 3:1 just like you. When it first came out CG touted that it was effective at 6:1. Tried it and nothing. They then changed it to 3:1 and still nothing. Maybe I'm just spoiled with the wheel cleaners that I currently have. :dunno:

Autogeek matches promotions. Shipping for me is faster believe it or not. Weird how a package from Florida can make it to my house (WV) in 2 days but a package from New York takes 3.
