Who's Behind The House of Rags, Detail Co, DIY Detail?

It’s just funny to me that everyone has a problem with These guys own lines yet they all worked close in development (well Jamie and Eddie) for ADS products.

Not that they’re not good products but ADS wouldn’t be where and who they are with out their channels.

The final product for hero had a huge part with Eddies testing it….

I think they just saw that hey we can build others brand. Why can’t we just find blenders like ADS and DiY and do it ourselves.

Also funny to me that Pan,Eddie, Jimbo and others do what DiY did and they get hate but DiY got all the love…

Think it just confirmed without saying it out loud... the industry has all the dirty secrets everyone knows it has. And anyone will use the backs of others to try to climb up in the industry.

It just confirmed this is like any other corporate world so best to stay involved from a hobby standpoint (or at least don't get too involved beyond a small business aspect).

That's why i like to stick with the manufacturer's. 3D, Sonax, Labocosmetica, Carpro, Gyeon etc Carpro was manufactured by Tacsystems in its early stages however according to Corey of Carpro-US and he hinted Gyeon was also manufactured by tacsystems in its early stages. Not sure what happened to Gyeon but he said the owner of Carpro was a businessman and after some quailty control problems with Tacsystems he started his own manufacturing company.

It was in a recent interview that the house of rags done with the french guy from detailing dogma hosting. It was very interesting.

I'm sure your right about the ADS testing but because I never watched DJ Kalid's channel and never heard of that Jamie guy it didn't matter to me, I wax turned onto ADS by our great forum member Deyon (DFB). Since they've got such a following, for some reason, I'm sure ADS benefited from it

Carzilla still. Yeah i have a 1L bottle of tacsystems oil zero its a good product. Doesn't smell so nice as eraser however. They have a lot of new LSP's actually. Quartz easy and TACSYSTEM Nano Diamond Quartz spray coating. All on special right now ironically lol

Maybe that's what i should try instead of Nxtzen is Tacsystem's new spray coating. I miss coating like beads. You can get close with sealants however, very close IMO.

I'm afraid to go there, genuinely afraid to go there

When they came here, HQ was just north of me in Wisconsin, I thought they were going to become my new Griots, just loved their product line and how complete it was, now your telling me about new LSP's and I know they've got new products

Moonlight...what a product but it MUST be used or it turns into a rock, a clear one at that, proves there's SOMETHING in those bottles

About a year and a half ago ADS wasn't as humble. I think the early social media results got to their head. They've definitely dropped "kill or be killed" from what I recall.

This may be true but atleast for me anyways, I couldn't be happier with what I've used so far, so their "swagger" is justified IMO. I'm looking forward to trying their Devon soap soon, it's been sitting and waiting for a good time to be used, that time is soon approaching

Pan released pads. Not long ago (with DIY Detail) they had to release a video about whether or not all their products (Detail Co, Pan's, DIY) were different or not.

They do get why there's doubt, right?!

Have to quote myself for the follow-up I just randomly came across with the pads:

Detail Co LLC suddenly emerged to compete with The Rag Company, Autogeek, Detailed Image and the other big online retailers. Who's behind this?

Many of you, like me, conclude Detail Co, Clean, DIY Detail, The House of Rags are the same or pretty close. From public records I found a Detail Co LLC registered with the Nebraska Sec'y State with a corporate address in Omaha NE. The address leads to a residence for an individual. LinkedIn has this person as an employee at Media Services in Omaha. MS is listed as a recording and rehearsal studio. MS was probably hired as a media production facility for DIY and its affiliated brands. The MS employee probably agreed to use his residential address to obscure the real owner of Detail Co LLC. This explains the Omaha connection when you see Yvan, Nick and Eddie filming in Omaha. Also, Nick (McGurk) spoke of a "managing partner" in Omaha on a recent episode Auto Detailing Podcast
(go to: 1:27:55) It sounds like Yvan and Nick are employees. It makes sense PTO, Eddie and Jamie are too. I get the impression Eddie and Jamie are not venture capital investors, and did not get SBA loans or put the bite on relatives for money to to start Detail Co LLC. The list of corporate officers for Detail Co LLC is behind a paywall: https://www.nebraska.gov/sos/corp/corpsearch.cgi It will likely reveal more shells for the real owner.

The other Omaha connection is Owner's Pride. For a while OP was a big deal with influencers but fell off the radar. OP was founded by ex-Optimum Polymer Technolgies employees. As you know Yvan is an ex-OPT employee. Unfortunately, none of this leads to the managing partner Nick spoke of. I thought Yvan was the money behind this and he might be. He was very successful in the detailing business in Canada.

All of Detail Co LLC appear to be high quality, but are they worth the added expense over other brands with similar high quality? Then there's the added attention of PTO proclaiming to be the best. It made me want to dig into this.
Update to the Omaha connection. I found the DIY studio where Yvan and Nick film. It wasn't hard. They posted clues in a recent video. Not surprisingly the property links to the employee of Media Services in Omaha I wrote about in the original post. Don't know if we will ever know the investor behind all of this.

Yvan and PTO posted another video about chemical blenders and white labeling. It's the third or fourth time this issue has been addressed in the THOR group. They must be concerned about something.

I seen Pan's line on a UK site lastnight. Very expensive.

Owner's Pride as some very high prices and they use the same SEO as DIY. They used too at any rate.
