Why is everyone buying apple i touch phones???

man when i was young i would have loved to have these awesome phones. i remeber saving my money for a beeper.. and those were hot backin 1987. i thought i was so cool to finally have one. ohh the good ol days.....

i agree my neice has one and shes only 13. what could she possible need all those functions for ?all she does is text and go on to facebook.. but its the cool thing to have the best cell phone.. used to be blackberrys now its back to i phone..

I'd grant that a large percentage of iPhone owners don't even begin to tap into their potential, but for people who do run businesses they can be indispensable. I even use mine to process credit/debit card transactions for customers when I'm out and about for jobs. Try doing that with a regular cell phone... ain't gonna happen.

I use the nokia n73 just to take pictures. And gues what ! I actually call up sombody with it.

I have an HTC Incredible, and my favorite thing about having a smartphone is I can read the autogeek forum while waiting for my wife while she is shopping!

Thats too funny I remember being so excited to get that big black block of plastic they called a beeper and thougth I was the cool kid on the block. Using a Blackberry now and I love it! I am not a touch screen girl so no iPhone for me.

So many amazing phones out there now it really all comes down to user preference and I don't think you can go wrong with any smart phone. Myself, I picked up an iPhone 3G two years ago and the OS, ease of use, and fit and finish won me over. I just ordered my iPhone 4 last week after having a chance to use the camera, HD video, and Facetime. I have yet to meet anyone who's had reception issues with one FWIW.

Just think of the benefits video calling can have with the detailing community! ;)

I got an iPhone 4 and love it. I have used the Android OS as well and its very nice. Working in business to stay up to speed and keep up with the demands required by my job I use a smartphone.

I agree with the OP. I have an enV Touch from Verizon, pretty much the smartest "dumbphone" they make. It takes good pictures since I don't have a digital camera, call quality is good, the antenna is located on the bottom of the phone so no problems with reception, good music playback and a 3.5mm headphone jack and I can look at Word, PowerPoint and .PDF documents on my phone. And I had a smartphone for a day (long story short, I got lied to by Verizon), and when I got the enV Touch, I was comparing the features, and they were the same. The regular phones are making huge strides in what they can do. I just can't see myself paying $30 a month for data, in addition to the actual phone usage.

I have a palm. It makes calls. It sends and recieves texts. I paid $60 or so for the phone. my next phone is going to be a free flip phone. I have internet at home, no use for internet on my phone. I know how to read a map or I have a navigator riding shotgun, no need for gps. I'm a fiend for facebook but I can wait until I get home. I have no need to spend money on fancy phones that do all this stuff I will never use. we should bring back the telegram.
