Washing Microfiber towels - what temp ?

In the vast majority of cases, the manufacturers do know their products best. Do you follow the instructions from your compound/polish/wax manufacturer? Or do you choose not to follow them, and get substandard results?

I usually like to follow the directions but there's certain exceptions of course. i.e. Griots Boss Creams tell you to "butter" your foam pad at the start... I don't butter anything except microfiber pads, I've never had a negative result from using a circle pattern around the pad vs. priming. So I guess in that case it's a fact that I choose not to follow the manufacturers directions and get superior results. Why superior? Because my pad doesn't get prematurely saturated with compound/polish.

Same with Megs D114. The label doesn't say it can be used for claylube, yet I find that it not only works better than anything else I've ever used including the original burgundy Quik Detailer, but it gives me the freedom to be able to be as liberal as I want with it and never be in a situation where I run out of claylube mid way through the job.

Meguiars Paint Protect keeps restored headlights from turning back to hazy yellow Far longer than any other dedicated OTC headlight protectant I've ever tried or heard about...

No where on the label of Ultimate Quik Wax does it recommend to use it as a topper over another layer of paste sealant, yet I don't hear too many people here complain about substandard results.

I could tell you what product I used to make this plastic/rubber inside of this Chevy Silverado look this amazing without making it the least bit slick. And I mean 0% slick! [unlike all dressings etc.] Lasts about a whole year looking this good too!
[but since the directions don't mention using it on rubber matts, you'd never be interested]

You know, people can make all the videos they want, with all their own opinions, but they can't have their own facts.

I've stated the facts about the melting points of the materials in MF towels. It is also a fact that some clothing is made out of these same materials, yet no one ever seems to melt their clothes in the dryer. It's also a fact that the minerals in hard water can build up in fabrics if you wash them repeatedly, which could explain, for instance, Larry's observation that his towel felt different after multiple washings.

Why did you deem this "just a random video"? What is he not famous aka kewl enough to deserve any fanboyism?
The fact is they're all just some random vids. I don't see any of them showing any proof of microfiber towels coming out of any of their washers looking ruined! It's just opinion! And when it comes to the theory of microfiber towels being degraded by washing in hot water I couldn't care less what any of those dude's wash their towels in or recommend because they haven't proved a damn thing.

You seem very easily influenced by "famous" people.... I bet if someone handed you a cup of coffee in a plain cup you'd think it was garbage. But if it was in a Starbucks cup you'd swear it was delicious. Smh.

Yeah, facts are facts, except when they are NASA facts, LOL? Here's some really excellent Photoshopping, just for you:

https://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/LRO/news/apollo-sites.html

And look how fake that LRO satellite looks!

Like I said earlier, this is not the place to get into that, which is why I went ahead and let you go on about me supposedly hating science for a while... 1 thing's for sure though, I've never heard of any honest and true person or organization that faked so much and still deserved to be respected and thought of as truthful. They're lairs who've fleeced the American people out of billions of tax dollars for over a half century now.

Oh, and here's a bogus explanation of why you can't see that stuff on the moon with the HST: Moon hoax: why not use telescopes to look at the landers? - Bad Astronomy : Bad Astronomy

If we're talking about tax dollars, what about the trillions of dollars spent on nuclear weapons, and we only used two of them, and that was in the same week! And 70 years ago to boot! Talk about fleecing! At least now with our new president it looks like we might start to get our money's worth out of those nukes.

All government has fleeced the public for as long as we've been here. None of this republican vs. democrat argument here... I think people who argue that are idiots..

Trump is cool though. I've supported him the whole time and hope he comes through for the good people.

I tried to read everyone`s responses, but did not see anyone mention color bleeding unless I missed it. In case no one did touch on it....

- Try and wash similar colors together, especially when washing the first few times as they will bleed.

- And wash by task as well. For example, I wash by category:

1. Waffle weave & window
2. Paint towels
3. Interior & other nasty duty microfibers
4. Cotton towels
5. Coating towels

Alright already I give, what did you use on the mats?

I Never use the steamer to clean carpets... You can search my posts, I'm 1 of the only people who has always stated that it's absolutely useless for cleaning carpets and upholstery. Lol.
Completely false. Steamers clean carpets/upholstery very well!

Warm wash, low heat.

I'm still waiting for you to weigh in on the moon thing. IMO, the moon landings were faked because, as anyone who has seen Wallace & Gromit knows, the moon is made of cheese, and if NASA let everybody know that, well, everyone would want to go there and eat the moon, and then our tides would get all screwed up, etc. And you thought climate change was bad! Anybody who has seen Oblivion with Tom Cruise knows what would happen if something happened to the moon. Thank you NASA!

Are you confusing me with someone else? I don't remember commenting or reading a thread about the moon.

Too many people have boiled microfiber towels to prove it is not melting and dramatically not changing properties.

Hot is relative. My hot water heater is set to around 130 F so by the time it gets into the washer it is a wee bit less. In the grand scheme of things, that is not very hot.

I dry on lowest heat setting and do not over dry. It helps retain the softness by not removing all the moisture trapped in the microfiber.
