What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Trucks/ Trucks hauling trailers and especially any type of construction equipment are vehicles I absolutely avoid. I'll either pass them
( in the other lane)in a hurry and then stay in front or if that doesn't look possible I'll drop back 200 yards.
When I was bringing the Shelby home 75% of the 200 mile ride home was I-80, which is three lanes. I gave trucks a wide berth and tried to be as strategic as possible when passing them. Landscaping equipment on open trailers is another good source of stone chips.

I often say "daily drivers take daily beatings". But the garage queen doesn't have to. I'll be far more comfortable taking it out with PPF in the likely impact zones. Then maybe a decade or so down the road I will be able to stomach the insane cost of having the entire car done. They take door handles, lights, badges, and trim off to get the PPF everywhere possible. The quote made me shutter though lol. There were doing one to an Aston DBX on their IG the same day I reached out, looks intensive.

I thought about washing the wife's car but was going to be too cold.

After my Ryobi sprung a nice leak during a weekend of spring green up prep, I took the plunge since I already had a Lowe’s gift card. This is absolutely overkill for rinseless washing but it works far better than my IK Multi 12. I can’t say for sure but the fan tip may very well have 350 PSI of pressure. I put my hand in front of the nozzle and the stream had a little bite to it. I even had a little foaming action from the DIY RW at the normal dilution ratio. Cut my pre-wash time in half with the increased flow rate. I’ll give it another try tomorrow on my wife’s SUV but so far I like it. It’s at the pricier end for backpack sprayers but the quality is much better than Ryobi’s which has always been a consumer grade favorite.

Did it remove bigger grime with pressure?

Can't say. It was my own car which is never really that dirty. I can say that with a full tank I had enough solution to do a pre-soak, rinse off and get the dirt trapped in the wheel well carpets.

Magic photo Roger, looks very Blade Runner like.

I was thinking initial D

Didnt do this today but i did run across these pics today. I call it a mitt hangar but could be used to hang anything that is wet.

This is in my laundry room which i use the slop sink when detailing. Dont mind the paint splashed wall. Thats from 35 years of painting projects.

Just simple pieces of stainless safety wire twisted up and pinched between a couple fender washers plus stainless clips on the wires which can be moved back and forth.

Bets on you and me being the only members with cans of safety wire at our house?

Cleaned the windshield using Ech20. Dilution somewhere around 1:30. Windshield was very dirty after a week of rain & pollen. I sprayed it on heavy. Let it sit for a minute. Wiped off with mf towel and dried with TRG. Ech20 is awesome for glass. I will occasionally try different products on windows just for fun. I used Gyon Prep which also works good. But Ech20 has great lubrication for glass.

Um...EcH2O was introduced as a Waterless Wash...rinseless is an off-label use.

I knew someone would say this but that WW ratio never worked for me, I really tried too

That said, 2 oz to 3.5 gallons of water for a RW really gets the job done! Sure it cleans but I use this when it's days dusty, lightly dirt and i wanna add some POP & protection

I had no intention of washing my car today but after coming outside to do some lawn work I saw that my neighbor’s lawn care crew had blew all of the yard debris onto my car. I think it’s time me and this crew have a nice little talk since they can’t seem to keep their subpar work off of my property.

I've never used it as a waterless. I use it at about the same dilution you do for rinseless, mine comes out to slightly more product than you are using, 1:200.
Yeah too much buffing involved with it as a WW IMO

RW with Hero. The damaged area cleaned up decently without any polishing.

But I'll still be taking photos from her good side for now.

Then I hit 3/4 of the windshield with Griot's ceramic glass cleaner. Wanted to leave some untouched so I can tell how well the ceramic glass coating holds up without any topper. So I'm not gonna add anything to the outside half of the passenger side.

Total damage would be new wheel and bumper plus paint maching,
And compensation for your inconvenience.

So the EN was "legit" dirty, rained taking it to the body shop for the tailight repair Thursday, then poured on it when I picked it up and last night/this morning rained on it..."legit"

Because it's supposed to rain tomorrow I thought I'd use some "other" products on it this afternoon, check this out. For the pre-wash in my Griot's Garage foam gun I used 3 oz of Adam's limited edition carwash soap. I foamed and let it dwell and rinsed away...the beads from the ADS Phobics stack ontop of ADS Quartz...

Next I made up some DP Detailing Products Wax and Wash (thanks Brr or Uncbrs, sorry got stuff from both of you around the same time) and went for it. Now for a product with wax in it I wasn't expecting too much sudsing but it did, 3.5 oz in 3.5 gallons of water. I will say "the stack" was fighting it off but hey, a little extra protection isn't so bad

I then used the leftover carwash soap for the tires, wheel and wheelwells, just dunked the brushes in and cleaned them up. The coat of left over ADS Quartz on the KN wheels laughed at the soap and water, so easy to clean

Finished by applying some ADS Ceramic Spray Sealant on the new tailight section, I felt it was a little too cool to apply Phobics...PLUS it's supposed to rain tomorrow and although it needs 4 hrs I'm not taking any chances. I didn't forget the jams and engine bay wipedown either
