From here on out, ONLY Fuzion, Signature Series II, or Souveran for me!!

Not sure why you would make a statement that you will limit yourself to just these three waxes, but I own all of them and agree they are great. For my colors at least, Fuzion and SSII have impressed me the most. There are still tons of great waxes out there I have not tried yet, though, so I would not even dare say I'm sticking to certain ones.

This is true for me also. There is something relaxing and rewarding about applying waxes by hand. I still would like to try it by machine sometime to see how it goes.

For sealants, though, I have been applying them by machine only except for tight areas. It is nice to get a thin, even coat that way.

just got my fuzion today. tried a little section on a car and i was thoroughly impressed. full review coming tomorrow

No, why would you make a statement like this? Is this your life or mine? I've tried MANY wax and sealants, and I've come to the conclusion that these are my favorites.

another hint I have found, although I too prefer application by hand, is to leave container closed and turn upside down. Firmly tap the bottom and then flip around and open. Once you go to flip it while open the entire contents "usually" slip out in one big block. Then its like a bar of soap and a shower mitt, you just coat it.

Thanks for the suggestion. Did someone tell you I have a talent for doing something new the wrong way? You probably just saved me an "oops!!" followed by an order for a replacement tub of SSII.

yup..you guys are right...waxing is like the frosting on the cake...after all the long process you finally get to pretty it up with frosting. Its like putting the flag on Mt. Everest...climbed it..finsihed it...conquered once again.....

Haha Well thats good, because I can see me flinging it across the room and pinging another car when it hits a DA thats running. ... Now that I think about that application method, it sounds pretty silly.

I am throwing the SSII in my order for tomorrow. Thanks sooo much for making me spend more. :xyxthumbs:

You will NOT be disappointed!! It's always fun to spend more money....lol. I had sig series 2 a long time ago but only used it once(sold it), because I didn't think of applying it by DA. I'm too impatient to apply LSP's by hand. It applies and removes exactly like Fuzion, and with a DA, it's heaven!
 
Well, I was just thinking since Max's signature comes with the Fuzion.... LOL ok just kidding.

Yeah, I have pretty much gone to liquid because of the application, but I am giving this a try now. Can't wait to see how much I spend on the BOGO tomorrow too. :D

What I really like about applying paste waxed via DA is you can easily apply product the the entire face of the pad. This insures even, uniform coverage.

I was noticing that in Mikes video earlier ... I do like that idea, huge plus. I am excited to try it on the black.

Applying wax with the bare hands is not a new technique, it was used in the 60’s, and I suspect that it had been used by people at sometime or another over the last 100 years. It just produces some of the best possible looks and protection. Wax is at its very best when the wax from the original jar or tin is in that same concentrations. The hands are non-porous and no carrier solvents will be absorbed. What is in the jar or tin is now in the proper concentrations on the finish. Bare hand waxing will benefit any wax-based product by any manufacture. In the right hands it could make the difference between a good job and an excellent job.

If you are like me, waxing the finish is the final step and the most rewarding. One coat of wax is not enough and ten coats seems reasonable. We are all guilty of over using wax applicators to the point that we have to wring out the liquid solvent collected every once in a while to continue getting a good mix. And most of us seal the moist wax applicator back in the jar or tin to be ready for the next round of waxing.

I am not saying that any one particular technique is for everyone, I just know what I like and find rewarding. It is hard resisting going back to the container for more wax, but just keep on spreading and massaging in what you have. One of the biggest problems with using a wax applicator is that they can easily grab a sharp piece of sand and it can become embedded in the applicator. Without knowing it that sharp piece of rock is moved all over the surface starting what is later known as swirl marks. With the bare hands application that same piece of sharp sand would be detected and removed almost instantly. Swirl marks are a fact of life, but they can be reduced considerably.

Not sure about the palms of your hands or what solvents are in each wax as that probably varies somewhat per product, but a quick search on the internet will quickly indicate that solvents are readily absorbed into your skin and can cause organ damage and dermatitis. Again, due to VOC compliance, there probably aren't any heavy duty solvents in these waxes to be concerned about, but I'm no chemist or biologist so take that for what you will. :props:
 
for those looking for a cheaper alternative but want to apply by D/A ... consider DP's MaxWax. You wont be sorry.

:iagree: I was pretty impressed with the sample Tad sent me. I really couldn't tell much of a difference from the Souveran paste I had next to it.
 
Hey Mark, have you happened to have tried the dodo juice white diamond or light fantastic? I was just curious of how it does on the machine silver? I have a sample of white diamond that I haven't tried yet on the vette.

Hey Brian,

I tried light fantastic a while back. I wasn't aware that it was such a soft wax. I had to apply it with my bare hands(made a mess), but it looked good!

Thanks! That is why I prefer the harder waxes myself :dblthumb2: I'll give the white diamond a go here soon and put up some pics.
