I actually have a 21' trailer, 36' RV, 17' boat, cadillac, and a Camry on the mobile list. All of it needs to be done. Anybody need a job in southern NH??? You laugh...but I'm serious, haha.
I would take you up on the job offer if I wasn't all the way in VA. I have only had on job in the past two weeks since I got my biz license; and she was a return customer, which is a really good thingHope you get some help up there so you can get those mobile jobs done and not lose any biz.
Any updates

Sure is an update. My van won't start! lol
Don't know what happened, but it just wouldn't start last week. So it's gotta get towed to my mechanic in the middle of this week to get fixed. I think the ignition needs to be replaced or something. I don't think it's a big deal...but I'll know this week.
I hope to be up and running next week...fingers crossed!
i dunno if youre mechanically inclined or not, but if its the starter, alternator, or battery then you can easily change it yourself.
is it cranking over? what happens when you turn the key? is there a clicking sound? do the headlights still come on when you turn them on(with the key in the "on" position)? if yes, are they dim?
typical no-starts are ignition related, battery, alternator, or starter and theyre really easy to diagnose.
post back/pm me and ill gladly help you out.
It turns over fine. But it just keeps turning over again and again.
And no, not mechanically inclined what so ever, ha.
My pepere used to be a mechanic, and he seems to think it's the ignition. I think the lights work fine. Although I haven't officially tested it out. It seems like it's got battery power. I don't think it's the alternator, battery, or the starter.
I've been saying from the start since I got this van...that I felt it was starting up really weak. Just never seemed to fire up well.
Thanks for the help!
Kris...my money is on the fuel pump. If it's turning over but wont kick on...and started WEAK before that...i think its the fuel pump/filter...which is in the gas tank...my friend had a GMC Safari (i cant remember if yours is the Safari or Astro), but they are the same van basically...just different names (like the chevy Express and GMC Savanah)...and we went through 2 fuel filters in as many years...and it WASN'T driven a lot. So keep that in mind as a possibility. If it is...spend the extra $ to get a good one...and also i'd recommend something like Lucas fuel additive...not only does it add gas mileage (i got an extra 2 MPG on my car WITH a lot of city driving and WITH only regular gas..compared to the MPG i was getting using the top grade), but its also SUPPOSE to keep your pump and injectors clean. I just add like 3 or 4 oz in every other tank up. A big 48oz bottle is like $10 at wally world...just my .02rops:
Yeah, that's a possibility too. This is why I'm just gonna take it to the mechanic. I just want it fixed so I don't have to think about it. It's time for that van to start making me some money instead of costing me money!

unfortunately i agree, if its cranking over and not starting, and if it had issues "getting and going" then it sounds like a fuel pump. definately not alternator, battery or started. im assuming when he says "ignition" he means ignition coil(s), definately a possibility if youre not getting spark, but it does sound like a fuel pump.
especially if its a GM, their fuel pumps go out constantly, i just replaced one on a G20 van a few weeks ago.
you COULD pull a spark plug and check for spark...if theres spark then check fuel pressure w/ a guage to see if its within spec...
but thats only if youre comfortable with doing light diagnostic workalso if it is the fuel pump, then the fuel tank needs to be dropped to replace it (how it is on most GMs and other cars),
so yeah if youre not mechanically inclined maybe this is a too big jobwould save you some green tho!
I'm just gonna hope my mechanic gives me a break. He knows what I've been through with this thing, ha. Maybe he needs a vehicle detailed???
haha yeah maybe he can give you a discount if you detail a car or two, id definately try it.
I'll throw it out there, cause I don't wanna put anymore money into this damn van, ha.
Hey Kris that is exactly why i went with a trailer. I truly believe that a van is better but i didn't want to drop a lot of money into a decent van because this is only a part time business for me and i didn't want to pay insurance, license plates etc on another vehicle! Plus both of my current vehicles can pull the trailer so I am good there. If i was full time with this I would definitely go with a van!
Let us know how it works out!
Yeah I hear you. If I was part time I would do the same thing. But loading and unloading a trailer every day can get tedious.
I had my van towed to the mechanic yesterday...and guess what? He said it started right up! Couldn't believe that. I have no idea why it wouldn't start. But I tried it for 3 days, and it wouldn't turn over, ha. But he said everything seems fine and that it may have just been flooded or something. Don't know why it would be flooded...but, at least it runs, ha.
Now as soon as you get it home it'll croak again lol...its just how it works. I'd still recommend the lucas fuel additive when ya tank up though![]()
