Northeast Detailing vs. Dodge Daytona. Ding ding ding!!

I was scared of all the controls and stuff. Cause amazingly...everything worked.

That truly is amazing, considering that on Chrysler products of that era it was sometimes rare to have everything work from day one, let alone 20+ years later!

Wow! How did I miss this? That was just frickin awesome!

Any idea how much the guy was planning on selling it for?

He didn't give me a number. But I did discuss it with him for a little bit. It seems to me like he's hung up on either keeping it, or selling it. I guess if you threw a number at him...he would most likely consider it. :xyxthumbs:

Just curious. I grew up in the 80's and I remember the Daytona being Dodge's sports car (Along with the Chrysler Laser). It actually had a decent amount of horsepower for its day (turbocharged 4, 146 hp). I think it became famous as DeeDee McCall's car in the show Hunter. Anyone remember that?:xyxthumbs:

I know he'll be asking over $2000 for it. Since he put about that into getting it running. I don't think it's even wort that much. He's better off keeping it IMO.

I remember the video game Hunter...lol

At $2k, I doubt anyone will bite, but you never know. I'm sure there's somebody out there who needs a semi-restored Dodge Daytona to finish their collection of cool 80's sports cars!

Yeah, you never know. He left the mechanics receipt in the car. That's how I know how much it cost just to get it running. Couldn't believe he dropped $2k on getting that thing to run, ha.

He said he wanted it to be a project for his son. But he only had me do the interior. The exterior would be all that's left for his son...and that's one hell of a job to start with I can tell you that much, ha.

There's always Maaco. I recently paid $600 at the local Maaco to repaint one of my cars (97' 3.2TL. Clearcoat failure). The paint job looked cheap and unimpressive, but I knew what I was getting into. After wetsanding the entire car and hitting it with the M105/M205 combo, it looked way better.:xyxthumbs:

Great job Kris! Good idea on that shifter knob. It's better to stop and admit defeat before you make it look worse. Besides it shouldn't be too hard to find an aftermarket replacement shifter even for a Dodge Daytona.

I agree. That was pretty much my thought process. I didn't wanna screw it up. Them cars in the 80's didn't exactly have the most solid interiors, ha. Thanks man! :xyxthumbs:
