Excellent job, Nick!
Do you use M105 differently than you would D300?
Also, you only used speed 3 with the Griot's? That's only 4220 OPM's. Speed 3.5 is 4650, and the speed 4 is 5080. I got these numbers directly from Griot's. Any particular reason you don't try to get as close as you can to 4800 OPM?

Very nice results--I really want to try them now! You didn't have to sand out any of those deeper marks? How many passes to buff them out?
I didn't have great success with MFDA system the first time I used it, but it's hard to argue with results like this. Looking forward to giving it another shot before writing it off. Great turnaround!
One of the biggest challenges (especially for the rotary guys) going to the new MF DA system is getting into the mindset of "slower is better"...that concept is just the opposite of how your mind wants to work when you put a polisher in your hands.
It reminds of a story about two bulls...one young, the other much older....
Great save! Love that color, and your garage too.
Great work as always Nick! he Tooorag looks better than new! :dblthumb2:
Is that how you spell it? I don't understand why they have to make the names so freaking complicated. How about VW version 6.5.9? lol![]()
He clearly states in the thread title, "DA Microfiber System".So were you actually using Megs cutting MF pads...or were you using surbuff's ? (i ask because you said you've been working with it for a long time and megs pads havent been out that long...unless of course you were one of the lucky few to try it out).
If you wernt using surbuff's...have you ever tried them...and if so what was your experience with them. BTW, any dusting issues with the 105 and the MF pads?

I can understand the misconception there, but I'm not sure where you got the idea of surbufs? To me the 'system' would include the D300/D301...

No sanding what so ever on this vehicle. It's a daily driver, and he really wasn't prepared to pay that much for a vehicle like this. He has some classics, in a small collection that he pays for perfection. But for something like this, he just wanted it "pretty good".
