Yep...first three is what I see in my car. And last last pic, I feel the MF system should have taken out the scratch...it doesn't look deep.

Hey Alex,
[*]I've found when working on some paints that I actually get better finishing from the D300 when I keep the sections size smaller, maintain moderate to heavy pressure throughout the entire work cycle(4-6 passes), and use very slow arm movement (1 inch per sec). Do not reduce pressure for the last few passes.
Hope this helps,
Rasky
I of course agree on the small section size but am curious about not reducing pressure at all for a final pass? What harm would this do?
I am just started doing things as such so I do not have everything I need by any means, for example, the only pads I have the Megs MF pads.
I do have some Opti Pollish II (use this by hand for under door handles and such) that I considered using on the Megs Finishing disc but doing a final light pass with the D300 and cutting disc corrected the problem I was having.

The MF cutting pad/compound will definitely dull the paint. You can obviously see it a lot more on darker colors. On the flip side, it does and amazing job on removing defects without leaving behind holograms. Follow up with a finishing polish/foam pad and you should be good to go!!

Tim, I follow with Optimum polish II most of the time on a white pad. I'll follow with optimum finish on a black pad in rare cases.and what would you recommend as a follow up Mark,as you have more experiance in the mf system than I....just curious.
Patience Grasshopper.......
Rasky has given you some serious advice.....
read, apply,execute!

ppl are doing it for various reasons, they want the faster cut but don't necessarily want the protection that the D301 provides (it is an AIO) b/c they want to put on a sealant or something else and having to strip it would be working backwards.
Also, some feel that foam with diminishing abrasives finishes better (usually the case with softer paints)
Mark...so I have a question....this is supposed to be a system. Why would you just use one part-D300 and then use something different? Isn't there something else that you've used in the past that works just like the MF and D300? I'm seeing/reading more and more people are just using the cutting disc and D300, but then switching to something else to finish.
hey ..did u end up doing your car yet?..im curious to see how it turns out
